WIC: The Tri-County Community Action Agency Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) provides supplemental foods, healthcare referrals and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk. Upon enrollment into the WIC program, a nutritional assessment will be completed for you and your eligible family members. They will then offer education on healthy eating, monthly vouchers for nutritious foods including eggs, milk, cheese, peanut butter, beans, tuna, fruits, vegetables, whole grain breads, rice, iron fortified cereals, and juice as well as many other valuable resources. Breastfeeding and lactation support and education are also available through the WIC program.

Short Term Rehabilitative Care Short Term Rehabilitative Care is designed for individuals in need of rehabilitation following hip or knee replacement, heart attack, stroke, or other acute medical event. Our goal is to rehabilitate individuals to restore their previous level of functioning with the goal of returning back to their home. Home Care We all need a little help sometimes. Home care services help people age strong in the community, connecting them with in-home supports, adult day health programming, and/or assisted living services. For older adults with care needs, the @Home Cost-Share program is available to help with some care expenses. Eligible participants can access in-home services – such as help with housekeeping, meal preparation or personal care – and/or community-based programming at adult day health centers at a reduced rate. You may be eligible for the program if you are age 65 or older, meet income guidelines, and need some assistance in the home with your personal or health care. The Living Supplies Closet provides items not available with food stamps such as paper products, diapers, personal hygiene items with referral from social service agency only. Clients can come once every six weeks (42 days).

West Bay currently operates two Alternative Learning Programs for student in grades K-12. Both programs are located in district settings (Cranston K-6 and Warwick 6-12), but accept students from districts across the state if seats are available. Both settings provide individualized and small group instruction in a therapeutic environment. The aim is to help students return to their sending schools once they have learned new ways of managing themselves and their behaviors; however, for some students, remaining in West Bay’s classes is the best option, and they are able to complete their school year with us.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) offers free tax preparation to households earning less than $60,000 per year. Federal and State returns are prepared and electronically filed by IRS Certified Tax Preparers. Starting January 23rd, they will begin our drop off/remote tax preparation service by appointment only. Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Contact (401) 467-7013 to get your appointment today. They will make sure you receive all the tax credits you are eligible for such as: Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, and Dependent Care Credit as well as other non-refundable/refundable credits.

The RISE Clinic at The Miriam Hospital provides specialty consultation related to tuberculosis (TB) care in partnership with the Rhode Island Department of Health. The clinic works with patients who have developed tuberculosis and those at who have been exposed and are at a high risk of developing tuberculosis.
