High School Equivalency(GED) and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Tutoring is available upon request and the ability to match a tutor with the students needs. A dropout prevention program is available for students that are in jeopardy of dropping out of school. A case management approach addresses family as well as student needs. If you have not finished high school, you can prepare yourself to take the General Education Development Test (GED) by taking Pre-GED or GED Classes at the Center. If you need to work on your English reading, writing, or language skills, you can also take an English for speakers of other languages (ESOL). There is also an accredited college course you can take at the Center if you are considering a college degree. Several personal enrichment courses are also held during the year. Special classes such as Italian, Art, Line Dancing are offered periodically.

Lawn School is a public school for students in grades 5-8. Jamestown School Department provides a rigorous, standards based curriculum with a balanced literacy program, real-world mathematics, hands-on science and civics education preparing students for 21st century learning. Project Outreach established in early 1970s by the former Washington Park United Methodist Church provides emergency assistance to surrounding neighbors in times of need: food pantry, bread distribution, utility and rental assistance programs, educational programs for adults and children, prescription help for the uninsured, exercise programs in gym, and ESL and GED programs.

The ReFocus Community Center at 1228 Westminster St., Providence, is designed for our folks, older and younger, who are more comfortable in a smaller, slower-paced atmosphere. RCC-1228 offers these folks an array of educational programs and activities suited to their interests, needs and abilities.

The Lincoln Housing Authority has a total of 246 units for disabled or elderly persons at two sites: 194 units at Lincoln Manor located at the housing authority and 52 units at Manville Manor located on 155 Church Street, Manville 02838. LHA also provides six units of family housing at Woodland Terrace. LHA administers 124 Housing Choice Vouchers.

Offers 24-hour hotline, information, advocacy, support, legal assistance and crisis counseling. trained counselors/advocates available to meet victims at hospital, police station and court. Assault Prevention Program offers personal safety programs to students in preschool through college. Day One serves victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and other violent crimes. Services include the 24-hour Victims of Crime Helpline; crisis intervention, individual and group counseling for children and adults, advocacy (including legal advocacy) for victims and their families. Also, the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), the RI Children's Advocacy Center, prevention education and a new Family Foster Care Treatment Program for sexually abused children in foster care and their foster families.

Administers programs to assist diabetics in controlling their disease and to make breast cancer prevention programs, particularly mammography, more accessible to Rhode Island women.
