The Unit provides a safe, structured environment that meets physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs throughout the disease progression. An emphasis is placed on residents succeeding, dignity, and support of family members. Short Term Rehabilitative Care Short Term Rehabilitative Care is designed for individuals in need of rehabilitation following hip or knee replacement, heart attack, stroke, or other acute medical event. Our goal is to rehabilitate individuals to restore their previous level of functioning with the goal of returning back to their home. Skilled nursing services; on-site physical, occupational, and speech therapies are available. Short term stays range from one week to several weeks, depending upon the individual’s medical condition. Hospice Suite The Hospice Suite provides care for terminally ill individuals who qualify for general inpatient level of care. The Suite affords residents a lovely homelike environment with ample room for visiting family members.

The Molar Express provides x-rays and restorative treatment such as fillings, root canals and extractions (all with parental consent).

Services: Houses 29 families and 8 women daily. Shelter stays are limited to 90 days but can be renewed based on progress demonstrated by participants or impending permanent housing. Case managers assist participants with healthcare, employment and establishing permanent housing. Help also available for: mental health issues, addiction, developmental delays in children, parenting and domestic violence. Case managers access services directly through Family Resources Community Action Program or collaborative agreements with other local non profit organizations.

After an initial intake screening you may be referred to an on-site psychiatric practitioner for further evaluation and treatment. Individualized treatment and recovery plans might include medication management supervised by the psychiatric practitioner and ongoing co-occurring counseling with clinical staff.

OSCIL works together with state and local government and public entities to eliminate architectural, communication, and attitudinal barriers. OSCIL has provided technical assistance to T.F. Greene Airport, area hospitals, Roger Williams Park, the Board of Canvassers, and many other private businesses and organizations to comply with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) and Rhode Island Law 42-87-2. Individuals who experience barriers in the community, i.e. inaccessible restaurants, public events, schools, etc. are encouraged to call OSCIL for information and assistance. Part of OSCIL’s mission is to bring information to the community to help address barriers to independent living. The General Nathanael Greene Homestead is a National Historic Landmark located in Coventry, Rhode Island. Known as Spell Hall, it was the home of Revolutionary War General Nathanael Greene from 1770 to 1783, and was owned afterwards by his brother Jacob Greene and his wife Margaret. The house is owned and operated by the General Nathanael Greene Homestead Association, a non-profit organization, and was opened as a museum.

PawsWatch does not operate a physical shelter, but instead has different chapters operating throughout Rhode Island.
