“Project Broken Wheel” refurbishes bicycles given to us from local Police Departments and the community. The donated bikes get seat replacements, tires repaired, chains fixed, reflectors placed on tires/front & back of bike, and even touch up paint and some TLC and the bikes look close to brand new with a holiday bow

The Middletown Police Department is a full-service police agency, which provides law enforcement services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Patrol coverage is provided through the use of two platoons that work 12 hours shifts. Each platoon is comprised of two squads that provided relief for each other. NA is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. NA offers meetings which allow recovering addicts meet regularly to help each other stay "clean". The only requirement for membership is the desire to stop using drugs. Open and closed weekly meetings, groups for a specific population (i.e. Gay or Hispanic) and non-smoking meetings.

The Providence Fire Department protects human life and property from fire, prevents fire by monitoring property owner compliance with safety ordinances, provides "first responder" emergency and services, and educates the community through school and neighborhood programs. Free smoke detectors (and carbon monoxide detectors when available) to low income and handicapped residents of one, two and three-family houses in Providence. If you are unable to come and pick up your detectors you can call 243-6034 to have them delivered to you. Among these items are plastic fire helmets, coloring books & crayons, pencils, rulers, refrigerator magnets, etc.

Services: A small independent day school founded in 1999 to provide a unique educational environment for children with multiple learning differences. The goal was to create a school that would provide children with the opportunity to reach their full academic and social potential. The founding members of the Board, including educators, clinical specialists and a family, created a model that emphasizes the development of core grade level skills taught through a therapeutically guided curriculum. As a result, our students make significant gains academically and socially.

Home/community based case management program available to Neighborhood Health Plan/RIte Care members. The goal of OSP is for the client to remain in the community and avoiding a higher level of care. Services provided may include assistance with obtaining transportation to outpatient mental health appointments, collaboration with service providers, ensuring clear and consistent communication with primary care physician, assistance with meeting basic needs through case management, providing education to client regarding their mental health diagnoses and prescribed medications, collaborate with providers to support regular use of the skills learned in therapy, and to address barriers to treatment. The Harrisville Fire Department is a combination fire department made up primarily by volunteer members augmented by a small career staff. They operate out of one station, utilizing two BLS engine companies, one ladder company, two ALS transporting rescues, and multiple brush and support vehicles.

NEWSLINE for the Blind As of July 2005, individuals who are blind, visually impaired, or print handicapped can utilize this comprehensive newspaper reading service that is accessible through the use of any touch-tone phone. To provide eligible individuals with visual impairments the opportunities and support that will enable them to become independent, active, self sustaining members of their community. Eligibility: To be eligible for services, you must be visually impaired, with acuity of 20/60 or less in the better eye with correction, or a field loss of twenty degrees or less in the better eye. PROGRAMS: Vocational Rehabilitation/Blind, Business Enterprises Program (BEP), Independent Living and Social Services Program: Children's Social Service Program, Adult Social Service/ Independent Living Program, Older Blind Independent Living Program.

We provide research, policy analysis, education, and advocacy on state and federal budget proposals, public benefit programs, adult education and economic development.

Treatment Accountability for Safer Communities is a membership association representing over 220 programs across the United States that are dedicated to the professional delivery of assessment and case management services to substance involved criminal justice and court populations. TASC has also distilled a methodology of critical elements which are fundamental to integrating the criminal justice and substance abuse treatment systems, holding offenders and both systems accountable through the implementation of client-specific case management. As such, TASC methods can be utilized by programs or systems attempting to manage drug-involved offenders and other people involved with the courts as they occupy places in both justice and treatment programming. The TASC model of service is to provide assessment, treatment, or referral to treatment, case management, and monitoring and reporting services.

A nationwide service to help families and friends find information about community services for older people such as home delivered meals, transportation, legal advice, adult day care, home health services and more.
