Jamestown Emergency Management Agency, in partnership with the Rhode Island Department of Health and Rhode Island Emergency Management, implements policies related to hazard mitigation and emergency management programs and activities. The EMA also has general supervision of all civil preparedness duties and performs any other duties as assigned by the Town Manager. Jamestown EMA staff is trained to distribute medical supplies, food and water at times when it may be required. Shelter: Melrose School, located at 76 Melrose Ave will be operational and staffed in partnership with the Rhode Red Cross at anytime that residents may be required to leave their homes. The staff at the shelter is trained to provide basic needs including food, water and medical treatment. Pets may also be sheltered at the Lawn Avenue School during these events.

Housing First provides rapid access to permanent housing and voluntary access to a variety of services. Unlike traditional programs, sobriety or participation in treatment is not a condition of receiving housing. Residents must only comply with the tenets of a standard lease.

The Diocese of Providence’s Secretariat for Catholic Charities & Social Ministry develops, implements and supports ministries and services that reach thousands of Rhode Islanders each year. Mental health services in a fully integrated model alongside medical services. Thundermist’s behavioral health team includes licensed social workers, mental health counselors, and psychiatric clinical nurse specialists. They provide individual and group counseling, integrated behavioral health interventions, case management, and referrals. Thundermist behavioral health services program provides open access and immediate crisis-oriented interventions to patients, as well as follow up.

The Nina Foundation is a Rhode Island organization charitable 501c3 providing a safe haven for supervised visitations between parents and children since 2012. Nina's House offers a homelike setting, with privacy, comfort and safety under the care of in-house court authorized clinicians. “Families Together” clinicians have been recognized for quality performance over 20 years of service affiliated with the Providence Children's Museum and the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF). Families Together counseling, 200 families a year, now accounts for more than 1,000 client families completing the visitation process at Nina’s House. Families Together at Nina’s House is acclaimed for their professionalism by the RI Family Court, was chosen as an exemplary State Child Welfare Initiative to host a US Congressional Health & Human Services Caucus.

Program provides low-interest loans to income eligible homeowners to assist them in making needed improvements to their homes. The program is available for single to three family owner occupied dwellings. Typical improvements include roofs, vinyl siding, windows, doors and gutters.

Katie Beckett eligibility enables children to be cared for at home instead of an institution. With Katie Beckett, only the child's income and resources are used to determine eligibility.

To protect the health and safety of children, workers, and the general public by identifying and decreasing environmental lead hazards. What we do Ensure that children under 6 years of age are screened for lead poisoning. Collect blood level test results for children younger than 6 years of age to evaluate screening and lead poisoning trends. Refer children with blood lead levels above the reference level (5 mcg/dL) to case management and in-home education services. Offer comprehensive environmental inspection of homes of children younger than 6 years of age with significant blood lead levels. Conduct outreach and education about the dangers of lead poisoning. Offer free educational materials. Partner with the Rhode Island Alliance for Healthy Housing to improve housing in Rhode island. Set parameters for licensing lead professionals to conduct environmental inspections and remove lead hazards from properties. Conduct filed investigations on sites where lead hazard removal is being performed to ensure that workers are appropriately licensed and follow lead-safe work practices.
