RISBDC exists to train, educate, and support entrepreneurs of both new (pre-venture) and established small businesses. Positioned within the nationwide network of SBDCs, RISBDC offers resources, key connections at the state and national level, workshops, and online and in-person support that enables them to help Ocean State entrepreneurs reach the next level of growth.

Our Adult Basic Education program prepare students to pass the GED (and other high school equivalency programs) and proceed to college-level work and persist in their post-secondary education goals. Students receive developmental education courses in reading and math, as well as courses in writing and computer literacy, in order to first earn a high school equivalency diploma and then be prepared to enter college, a trade school, or a certificate program. The program also includes extensive academic and support services for students to help them reach their educational goals.

The Providence Animal Rescue League (PARL) is a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. PARL serves communities throughout Rhode Island and beyond. Our mission is to provide for the rescue and relief of suffering or homeless animals and perform charitable or benevolent acts for the welfare of animals.

New Shoreham has the distinction of being the smallest town in the smallest state. The municipality encompasses the entire geographic area of Block Island, an island of just under 10 square miles located approximately 12 miles south of mainland Rhode Island across Block Island Sound. Block Island was known as Manisses (the Little God�s Island) by the Narragansett Indians.

Offers training opportunities on a wide variety of topics for individuals who are either working towards or renewing a mental health, substance abuse, social work, or nursing certification or license. A nonprofit membership organization representing the majority of public and private alcohol and drug abuse treatment and prevention programs throughout Rhode Island. Committed to advocacy for quality alcohol and drug abuse treatment. We provide training for the certification of dependency professionals in the areas of treatment, prevention and student assistance as well as substance abuse training for other professionals. In addition, DATA operates the R.I. Division of Substance Abuse's "In-Rhodes" library which provides substance abuse information, research and educational materials to providers, consumers, educators, students, community-based organizations and the general public to borrow, and/or utilize for informational or educational purposes.

Programs that publish reports that are based on results of census surveys which include an official enumeration of the population of the county, city or other administrative district as well as vital statistics (births, deaths, marriages, divorces, health and disease and so forth) and other classified information that relates to social and economic conditions. Also included are organizations that produce and distribute special reports that are based on census data.

The Bristol Historical Society was founded in 1936 to "promote interest in historical research, stimulate the study of the history of Southern New England, especially the Town of Bristol, and collect and preserve whatever is related thereto." Prior to housing the collections in the jail building on Court Street, the Society was located at the Rogers Free Library building. In 1957, a disastrous fire at the Library destroyed many of the Society's treasures and resulted in its lease of the then abandoned Bristol County Jail for use as a museum, library and meeting space.

GAMBLERS ANONYMOUS is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from a gambling problem. This program also provide information and resources for people inquiring about gambling recovery. Not allied with any sect denomination, politics, organization or institution. The primary purpose is to carry the message to the compulsive gambler who still suffers. Values anonymity for the group and organization.

Lawn School is a public school for students in grades 5-8. Jamestown School Department provides a rigorous, standards based curriculum with a balanced literacy program, real-world mathematics, hands-on science and civics education preparing students for 21st century learning. Jamestown schools have adopted computer science, coding and science, technology, engineering, arts & mathematics (S.T.E.A.M) based opportunities as key components of the curriculum. Currently both schools in the district have a fully furnished makerspace lab with 3-d printers, green screens and Edison robots.

Sail To Prevail is a nonprofit that improves the lives of more than 1,000 children and adults, each summer, through sailing in our fleet of specially adapted, 20-foot sailboats. Our programs encourage individuals with disabilities to be active participants in the sailing experience. They steer the boat, grind the winches, and trim the sails. The measurable outcomes demonstrate increased self-confidence and leadership skills. The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States is a nonprofit veterans’ service organization comprised of eligible veterans and military service members from the active, guard and reserve forces. OSVS strives to make veterinary care affordable for every pet owner, but sadly, many pet owners simply cannot afford such care. In an effort to assist some of these owners and help keep these pets as part of their family, OSVS administers a number of assistance funds which are designed to provide financial support to clients in need. The Unit provides a safe, structured environment that meets physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs throughout the disease progression. An emphasis is placed on residents succeeding, dignity, and support of family members. Short Term Rehabilitative Care Short Term Rehabilitative Care is designed for individuals in need of rehabilitation following hip or knee replacement, heart attack, stroke, or other acute medical event. Our goal is to rehabilitate individuals to restore their previous level of functioning with the goal of returning back to their home. Skilled nursing services; on-site physical, occupational, and speech therapies are available. Short term stays range from one week to several weeks, depending upon the individual’s medical condition. Hospice Suite The Hospice Suite provides care for terminally ill individuals who qualify for general inpatient level of care. The Suite affords residents a lovely homelike environment with ample room for visiting family members.

Mental health services in a fully integrated model alongside medical services. Thundermist’s behavioral health team includes licensed social workers, mental health counselors, and psychiatric clinical nurse specialists. They provide individual and group counseling, integrated behavioral health interventions, case management, and referrals. Thundermist behavioral health services program provides open access and immediate crisis-oriented interventions to patients, as well as follow up.
