Generations is a day facility providing services to meet the needs of adults with disabilities and the elderly. The Mission of Generations is to provide an array of services/supports responsive to the needs of participants and the personalized goals and objectives within their individual Plans. NEWSLINE for the Blind As of July 2005, individuals who are blind, visually impaired, or print handicapped can utilize this comprehensive newspaper reading service that is accessible through the use of any touch-tone phone. To provide eligible individuals with visual impairments the opportunities and support that will enable them to become independent, active, self sustaining members of their community. Eligibility: To be eligible for services, you must be visually impaired, with acuity of 20/60 or less in the better eye with correction, or a field loss of twenty degrees or less in the better eye. PROGRAMS: Vocational Rehabilitation/Blind, Business Enterprises Program (BEP), Independent Living and Social Services Program: Children's Social Service Program, Adult Social Service/ Independent Living Program, Older Blind Independent Living Program.

The Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) serves as “the principal agency of the executive branch of state government” (R.I.G.L. §42-7.2-2) responsible for managing the departments of: Health (RIDOH); Human Services (DHS); Office of Healthy Aging (OHA); Office of Veterans Services (VETS); Children, Youth and Families (DCYF); and Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals (BHDDH). LIHEAP:Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, offers assistance with managing costs associated with home energy bills. Tri-County is able to help with paying fuel and utility bills during the winter months for eligible clients, and we can arrange for the installation of home insulation to reduce home-heating costs (gas, electric, propane, oil, kerosene or wood) through our weatherization program. Eligible clients must meet income guidelines.

Programs that provide ground vehicles which transport acutely ill or injured individuals to health care facilities for treatment or from one health care facility to another for specialized care. Ambulances are equipped and staffed to provide medical care during transit and, in communities where the municipality contracts with the company as their emergency medical service provider, are dispatched when residents contact 911 with a medical emergency, not accessed directly. Depending on the terms of the contract, the ambulance company may be the municipality's primary first responder, may serve in a backup capacity when the city's service is busy or may handle the transport component of the service while the city's paramedic/EMT service functions as the first responder. Ambulance companies may also provide emergency transport for people who want to go somewhere other than where the municipality's emergency medical service is authorized to take them.

Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center offers short-term, safe, confidential shelter for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and their children. Residents are provided with all basic needs and are encouraged to participate in a program that includes education about domestic violence, parenting and financial literacy. Provides specialized children’s services, advocacy and referrals. 16 bed capacity, NOT handicap accessible. Services Available: Case management; Crisis intervention (on-site); Domestic violence support and education; Housing search and education; Budgeting and financial literacy; 3 meals per day. Important Policies: Rent is NOT required; Medications are locked and stored in a secure location and available to guest as prescribed; Smoking allowed in designated outdoor areas; Drug/alcohol free environment; Children must be supervised at all times; Agency follows least-harm model

FOOD/HOT MEALS In their fight against hunger and food insecurity, they provide thousands of meals annually through a great team of volunteers in four primary communities: Woonsocket, Pawtucket, Providence, and West Warwick. They serve healthy fresh meals to those in need. They go beyond handing out care packages by serving hot meals to the homeless. At their weekly food services, their volunteers provide a valuable human interaction and guidance to available programs to those in need. In addition, we may deliver food to those who cannot reach their food distribution locations.
