MLK Jr. Community Center is a nonprofit service provider for at-risk individuals, families and seniors. Hunger Services On Site Food Pantry - providing non-perishable food, frozen meat, fresh produce, bread and household and personal care items to our Newport County residents. All clients are eligible to shop once per month. Mobile Food Pantry - visits neighborhoods across Newport County each month on a rotating schedule. Food 2 Friends - monthly food delivery service to home-bound neighbors and people unable to come to the on-site food pantry. Contact Jose Ramos at 401-846-4828 x 207 to get an application form. Breakfast Program - Mon-Fri 7:30 - 9:00. Serve a hot breakfast to eat in or take out. Enter through the Edward Street Entrance. Lunch Program - Tues, Thurs and Fri 11:30 - 1:00. First come first served. Tues & Thurs they provide soups. Fri (except MLK Friends' Lunch Friday) is a take-away lunch. Enter through the Edward Street Entrance. Produce to the People - year round program offering free fresh produce to Newport Co. residents, Thurs 10-1. First come, first served. Enter through the Edward Street entrance. June - September also at: Oxbow Farms, Tues 11-1, 80 Rogers Lane in Middletown and at Chapel Terrace, Fri 11 -1, 19 Chapel Street in Newport. Holiday & Thanksgiving Food Program and Children's Holiday Gifts - register beginning late September. If you have children, you can also register for Santa's Workshop. Emergency Overnight Warming Center - Jan - Mar, nightly from 7 PM - 7 AM. Use the Edward Street Entrance only. For transportation, call the RIO Team at 401-846-1213 x 1 Community Programs include nutrition counseling, cooking demonstrations, fitness classes and health screenings. A Senior Lunch & Learn is held the 1st and 3rd Weds each month, 12:00 - 1:15 and include a healthy lunch and featured activities and presentations. Education Programs for Children include Preschool, After School Academy and Summer Adventure Camp.

The Cumberland Senior Center is committed to providing an array of quality services to enrich and educate their senior citizens. They encourage and assist individuals in achieving a lifestyle in which they can remain an active and productive member of the community. Services include day trips and exercise classes. Membership is $8 per year to join the Cumberland Senior Center. Non-residents' cost is $12 for the annual membership. Programs: a variety of educational, informational and recreational programs for seniors are offered through the year. Senior Van - transportation is available, including center pick-ups and drop-offs, for local shopping and appointments. Daily Lunches - $3 lunches are served daily at 11:30. Reservations are needed.

The mission of the Woonsocket Senior Center is to improve quality of life and to maintain individuals in their preferred home environment in the community through nutrition programs, Health & Wellness Education, Adult Day Program, and Information and Referral. Senior Services, Inc. has provided services to seniors and adults with disabilities residing in Northern Rhode Island since 1975. In accordance with the Congregate Meal Program financed through a grant with R.I. Office of Healthy Aging, Senior Services, Inc. provides nutritionally balanced lunches five days a week at meal sites throughout northern R.I. Senior Services, Inc. offers activities, entertainment, computer classes, and Wellness programs, including our weekly blood pressure clinic and exercise classes. Senior Services, Inc. also offers an Adult Day Program ("A Home for the Day"), and a Community Information Specialist who can provide information on eligibility for all state and local programs.

To provide a focal point for all citizens in the community over 55. To come together for education, socialization, exercises recreation, health services and information. The Middletown Senior Center is a place for seniors to keep growing, learning, laughing, enjoying friendships and connecting with the community. We are committed to enriching the lives of older adults by empowering SELF- CONFIDENCE and encouraging INDEPENDENCE.

Provides activities, lunch and transportation. Services include case management, holiday assistance programs, LIHEAP, Meals on Wheels, SHIP, SNAP applications.

Soup Kitchen is served at 54 Spruce Street, near UBS (Oak St.) and Immaculate Conception Church (Narragansett Ave.)

The Picillo Center is a community center where older individuals can participate in community-based outings, physical fitness exercises, art therapy and horticulture activities throughout the day. The gardening project, initially started in 2009, has transformed into a genuine Horticulture program and business. Since its inception, this small garden has grown into a larger fenced garden, incorporating raised flowerbeds allowing for ease with plant care. With interest and ability improving, employees of the program successfully sponsored a number of fundraising events for the purpose of purchasing a greenhouse. With this in place, gardeners are able to begin their harvest earlier by starting with the seedlings. While both of these projects are enjoyable and healing, they also serve as an employment opportunity with produce and flowers being sold to individuals, local vendors and at farm fresh fairs.

Senior Nutrition Program known as the Cafe. Offers two-three meal choices daily.Reservations are required.

• Homeless shelter for single adults, 18+ unless with family. Case management, informal counseling. Mandatory and random substance abuse testing.

The Food 4 Life program provides meals 7 days a week to people at various locations and shelters in the greater Providence area, Kent County and Northern Rhode Island. Our committed volunteers serve an average of 1,000 + meals per week.

Lunch is served in the Parkside Dining Room at the Senior/Community Center. Those unable to pay will not be turned away. Meals are also available for home-bound neighbors weekdays with Meals on Wheels

Meal Site located at 134 Matthewson Street, downtown Providence, in Matthewson Street Methodist Church. Offers programming nearly every week geared to guests including a free legal clinic monthly; health screenings; flu shots, and outreach by health care providers and SNAP

Resource for individuals seeking information on all aspects of senior services working closely with the Department of Elderly Affairs, Smithfield Police Department, local Tri-Town agency and Northwest Health Care Services. The Center strives to meet the needs and desires of the greatest number of seniors in creating organized activities and workshop areas. The program includes- Recreation, Socialization, Transportation, Fitness Activities, Field Trips, Referrals to community resources, meals. Operates a meal site for senior citizens and provides Meals on Wheels. to a large numbers of individuals within the community.

Programs offered by churches, restaurants and other organizations that provide meals in a central location for people who lack the resources needed to buy and prepare food. The food may be distributed to people who line up for the meal or may be served to people seated in a dining hall setting, and participants rarely need to establish eligibility for the service.

The Barrington Peck Center for Adult Enrichment (formerly the Senior Center) is located in the Lower Level of the Peck Community Center (Public Library building), 281 County Road. Parking and the main entrance are located to the south of the building. The Senior Dining Program provides weekday hot lunches at cafes across the state. The lunches are available to seniors (60+) and disabled adults. The program has no income limits.

Fox Point Senior Center works with: Meals on Wheels, URI School of Pharmacy, URI School of Nursing, Department of Elderly Affairs, The City of Providence, SNAP, The Fox Point Boys' and Girls' Clun, United Way 211, and senior employment services. Their mission is to provide seniors and individuals with disabilities a daily hot meal, health and wellness programs, information and referral programs, translation services and individual attention as needed.

The mission of the Tiverton Senior Center is to reach out to all citizens in the community who are 55 or older to offer socialization, education, recreation, congregate meals, and various health and informational services that will improve the quality of life for all participants.
