Services: Houses 29 families and 8 women daily. Shelter stays are limited to 90 days but can be renewed based on progress demonstrated by participants or impending permanent housing. Case managers assist participants with healthcare, employment and establishing permanent housing. Help also available for: mental health issues, addiction, developmental delays in children, parenting and domestic violence. Case managers access services directly through Family Resources Community Action Program or collaborative agreements with other local non profit organizations.

Assists low-income residents through individual advocacy, research and community organization approaches to meeting basic human needs. When funds available: Provides emergency fuel and energy assistance "Keep the Heat On" during winter months (November - April). Rental and prescription assistance when funds are available. Through such a partnership with the Rhode Island Foundation, Tri-County is able to assist clients in housing crisis and in emergency need of rent or mortgage assistance. The Rhode Island Foundation’s Basic Human Needs grants support community agencies, such as Tri-County, to provide emergency basic human needs to clients, including housing and rental assistance. Our team of Emergency Services staff are available to answer questions, and connect you with resources to ensure your basic needs are provided, when you need them

SVDP provides the “home visit,” from Vincentians ask to meet in your home (they will always arrive as a pair). Most of our conferences offer the range of basic needs assistance from rent and security deposits.

Tri-County Community Action Agency offers the following programs: Early Childhood Education; Employment & Training; Family Care Community Partnership; Food Assistance; Fuel Assistance & Weatherization; Health Center; Health Equity Zone; Housing and Tax Assistance; Regional Prevention Coalition; Senior and Disabled Adults services; Victim of Crime Advocacy; and WIC. For seniors, services include: At Home Supports Case Management; Integrated Case Management; Self-Directed Program; Protective Services; and National Family Caregiver Support Program. Behavioral health treatment is offered for a wide variety of concerns including substance abuse treatment, anxiety and depression, relationship and family counseling, and stress and anger management. Dental and Oral Health services include: oral examinations, digital x-rays, dental cleanings, topical fluoride, nutritional counseling, sealants, oral hygiene instruction, restorative services (fillings), simple extractions, anterior root canal, denture repair and crown re-cementation Head Start educators work with families and children to implement developmental and socialization strategies that work best for you and your child. Their classrooms are bright and inviting and are designed to maximize creativity and learning. Healthy lunches and snacks are provided to children daily. In addition to providing educational and nutritional resources, children will have access to health and dental screenings at no cost, and families will be provided with health referrals and referrals for emergency services whenever needed. Early Head Start is a federal program for eligible families, that are expecting a child, or with a child ages birth to three years old. The program provides services that promote cognitive, language and social-emotional development of the child. Children enrolled in the program will receive medical and dental screenings at no cost, and families are provided with assistance locating health care, and emergency services whenever needed. Eligibility Guidelines: The programs service families with income at or below the federal poverty guidelines, children in living in foster care, and families experiencing homelessness.Ten percent of enrollment slots must be filled with children with a diagnosed disability.

Provides direct financial assistance for active or retired Naval and Marine Corps personnel and their dependents. Provides access for Army, Air Force and Coast Guard personnel with reimbursement from respective societies. Budget assistance, and layettes; information about dependency allowances, pensions, government insurance, locating and communicating with Navy personnel and community resources. CCAP EMERGENCY HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM – Assists individuals/families living in Cranston, Coventry, Scituate and Foster with back rent, security deposits, mortgage assistance, late fees associated with back rent or mortgage, moving costs and utilities. Funding is limited.

The Washington Park Community Center, a multipurpose human service agency, offers a variety of programs and social services to the local community. They provide year-round licensed childcare programs include Infant/Toddler Daycare (newborn - 3 yrs of age), Pre-School (3-5 yrs), Before & After School programs (for Elementary students). Hours of operation are 7:30 AM - 5 PM Monday - Friday. The Emergency Food Pantry is open for Washington Park Residents, Monday - Friday, 10 AM - 1 PM. Programs: Infant, Toddler, and Preschool Programs Ages 6 weeks to 5 years, Indoor and Outdoor Recreation, open year round, Monday through Friday (including School Vacations), Staff are CPR/First Aid Certified, DHS Childcare Subsidies welcome, licensed by the Department of Human Services. Before and After School for Elementary Students- Breakfast, Transportation, Afternoon Snack, Homework Help Offered Daily, Indoor and Outdoor Recreation, Open year round.

The HomeSafe program is designed to offer one time financial assistance for households facing a short term emergency with the goal of ensuring households remain housed. Eligible households must demonstrate that they have the resources to remain stably housed once the HomeSafe funds have been provided.

Family Support Center provides basic needs assistance to low income households and connects families to financial literacy and other programs to strengthen their financial condition. The Family Support Center serves low and moderate income Woonsocket residents depending on eligibility requirements for fund-specific programs.

Emergency financial assistance for rent/mortgage, utilities, medical expense, etc. is granted to household case by case basis.

The Mission of the British Charitable Society is to provide relief to unfortunate British persons who by the dispensations of Providence may be reduced to poverty, or as emigrants, destitute of information, require the aid of such an institution. The Society raises the funds to fulfill its mission by presenting a range of high quality and highly entertaining events with a distinctly 'British' flavor, which appeal both to its increasingly diverse membership and to corporate sponsors and partners. McAuley House also offers a host of support services such as rental assistance, toiletries, clothing, prescription assistance, transportation means, obtaining personal documentation, and referrals to housing and other medical or vocational resources. Guests also are invited to participate in a number of enrichment programs, which provide support, healing and engagement.
