Winslow Gardens is a place that truly feels like home. Nestled in a residential area of East Providence, Winslow Gardens is a 10-story apartment community that provides housing and services for older adults of modest means. They are a local nonprofit organization whose operations are guided by a value-driven and compassionate philosophy of treating each resident as a family member. They provide high-quality, personalized care while respecting individual needs and wants, and have been serving Greater East Providence since 1971. Their goal is to provide residents with the opportunity to live comfortably and safely with dignity and respect in a caring community. Each resident has a private apartment varying in size that can accommodate one or two people. Sankofa Healthy Housing: Sankofa Housing is a $13.5M green affordable housing development in Providence’s West End, completed in August of 2016. It includes 50 newly constructed apartments ranging from 1-4 bedrooms on 10 formerly blighted vacant lots in the West End of Providence. The housing is connected to Sankofa Community Farm, Sankofa Community Kitchen, and education space for tenant use

Saugatucket Springs is subsidized housing 62+, with 53 1 bedroom units.

Newport Heights located in Newport Rhode Island is a LIHTC development offering two, three, and four bedroom apartments. Designed for families, income guidelines are established through the Tax Credit program.

Housing- two operating 6 unit apartment building for individuals with differing abilities and who meet income guidelines established by RI Housing. Shared Living- if an individual is interested in shared living, the agency will work with them to identify a home care provider preferably someone with whom they already have a relationship. 24 hour Supported Living Services- individuals who require a more intense level of support and supervision may choose to live in one of the 6 homes or 5 apartments operated by this agency within which 24 hour staff supports are available. Focus within these homes is on supporting individuals to develop skills needed to live, work and play successfully in their community.

Assisted Living at Smithfield Woods is designed for those individuals who need assistance with activities of daily living, but still understand the importance for socialization in a home-like setting. Smithfield Woods is designed to provide a worry-free environment, allowing its residents to continue the healthy and active lifestyle they are used to. Provides services including gentle reminders to take medication regularly, bathing and dressing assistance, and more.

Coats Manor Apartments is subsidized housing 62+, handicapped or disabled.

Wiggin Village is subsidized family housing featuring one through four bedroom homes with fully-equipped kitchens and abundant storage. The community offers a maintenance-free lifestyle, on-site laundry, and community room with planned resident events. Income qualifications apply, and monthly rent is based on 30% of adjusted gross income. Wait list may apply. Please contact the Management Office for details.

Villa Excelsior Apartments have Section 8 contract rents – you must go to the office to fill out these applications in order to get on the wait lists. But we have a few apartments that are Low Income Housing Tax Credit Apartments with no rental subsidy. These units (1 & 2 br) are on West Ave in Pawtucket and (2br & 3br) are on Gilmore & Bridgham Streets in Providence. There are no other locations. They have fenced yards and 24 hour emergency maintenance services. No pets allowed. Rents start at $590 with no utilities included. You must have a minimum income of $1,900 per month in order to apply.

Laurel Crest-Pine Meadow is subsidized housing 62+, handicapped or disabled. There are two buildings, 40 units in one and 22 units in the other. Of these units eight are handicapped accessible.

Southlawn Palms is a subsidized, project-based, 65 unit apartment community with 1-3 bedroom units.

Willow Street Supported Living is subsidized housing for persons with disabilities; preference given to those with developmental disabilities.

Blackstone Valley Gateway offers 34 comfortable, affordable, 1-3 bedroom rental apartments.

Rand Place Apartments is subsidized Housing 62+, handicapped or disabled. 1 and 2 bedrooms available.

BVG II offers 41 new rental apartments in newly constructed and renovated buildings across 10 locations in Pawtucket and Central Falls, RI. Serving households of varying sizes, earning between 50-60% AMI. Units range from 1-4 bedrooms. The Gately Building offers 13 affordable apartments, a large commercial space with a complete commercial kitchen, and a large community space. PCF Development has partnered with Farm Fresh Rhode Island to turn the Gately Building’s first commercial space into a permanent location for job training and retail operations. Farm Fresh Rhode Island is a non-profit food incubator that strives to bring food producers, consumers and markets together.

Hanora Lippitt Apartments is subsidized housing 62+, handicapped or disabled housing with elderly preference given.

Coventry Crossroads Apts., LP was constructed in 2003 and offers affordable family housing 32 units – 1, 2, and 3 Bedrooms Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC)

The Veterans Memorial public housing project in Woonsocket provides housing designed for the elderly, but also with amenities for low-income families, including an after school tutoring program and playground.
