Youth Transition For young people with disability, life before completing high school is very different than life afterwards. OSCIL provides a variety of services to help students and recent graduates gain the skills and resources needed to make this transition into adulthood. Assisting youth in transitioning from high school to adult life is a core service provided by OSCIL, including next steps such as going to college or finding employment. Helps students identify choice and make effective decisions about their adult lives, which requires substantial planning. RHD-RI School Services, is committed to supporting students and their families to ensure a successful transition from school based services to adulthood. Works in collaboration with schools, families and host employers to create opportunities that address the goals and objectives embedded in a student’s IEP while assisting them with the completion of their Career Development Plan. Resources for Human Development-RI helps adults with developmental disabilities reach their goals. With a strong focus on the arts, RHD works with its Participants to develop new skills, become more integrated in the local community and explore a variety of employment opportunities. RHD also contracts directly with a number of school departments around the state to provide supports for students too young for adult services.
