Westbay’s Lead Center provides a Case Manager who will walk families through the application process. This program provides forgivable loans to mitigate the hazards of lead-based paint and to make your home a healthier and safer place to live. The LeadSafe Homes Program is available to homeowners and landlords at no cost to qualifying customers. The Lead Center provides community outreach and education about lead-related issues. Westbay’s case managers can make home visits to assess for lead hazards and/or provide education to families with children under six years of age with no referral. Assessment The Lead Center offers free in-home lead assessments to any property owner, landlord, or tenant worried about lead paint hazards. Assessments are especially important for households with young children and for those who are planning to renovate. Case Management The Lead Center provides non-medical case management for families of children with lead poisoning. Case managers help families coordinate medical care, developmental screenings, and nutritional counseling. They can also offer assistance with housing inspections or relocation.

Occupational Health provided through Landmark Medical Center at the Rehabilitation Hospital or RI offers prevention and treatment of injuries to help employees return to work. Services include: Management of the Injured Worker - with special attention to the specific injury as it relates to work environment; Acute Injury and Follow-Up Care. Medical Examinations: Post-Offer (to identify suitable employees for your workplace); Medical Surveillance (for lead, asbestos, etc.); Periodic Medical Examinations; Fitness for Duty Examinations; Second-Opinion Examinations. Physicals: Annual and Exit Physicals; Department of Transportation Physicals; Back-to-Work Physical; Audiometric Testing (OSHA Certified); Pulmonary Function Testing (NIOSH Certified); Immunizations and Phlebotomy Services; Workplace Site Visits; On-Site Screening Programs; NIDA and Urine Drug Screens; Electrocardiograms; Breath Alcohol Testing; Respirator Fit Testing.

LeadSafe Homes Program was developed to help eliminate the dangers of lead in the property. Funds are available to properties built before 1978, properties with pregnant women and children under the age of six, and home-based daycares or foster homes that may contain lead paint. There are no out of pocket expenses or monthly payments. Funds are grants/loans and loans are forgiven after 5 years for owner-occupied properties and 10 years for rental properties. Improvements may include new windows and doors, interior and exterior painting and lead safe yards and play areas.

Voluntary facility providing housing accommodations for households who would like to quarantine away from a household member(s) who has tested positive for COVID-19. Rooms are equipped with a mini refrigerator and microwave. A daily food stipend will be provided for guests to order food. Coin operated laundry is also available onsite. Pets are not allowed. Maximum days of stay is 10.
