Other Services: Outpatient Surgery Unit; Referrals to Home Care Services; Nutrition Counseling Services; Sexually Transmitted Diseases/AIDS Testing Site. ** Emergency Service Department, 24/7, for trauma, medical, cardiac, poison overdose and a dedicated pediatric emergency unit. ** Express Treatment Unit. HIV Testing | ENCORE/Needle Exchange Program

Currently the only needle exchange program in the state. Functions as a Harm Reduction program including needle exchange, drug treatment referral, free condoms, free clothing and free HIV testing on-site. **Van also brings needle exchange to other areas of Rhode Island** Woonsocket: Tuesdays from 2:30 - 4:30 PM (Arnold St., next to the Soup Kitchen.) Newport: Fridays from 2:30 - 4:30 PM. (Near MLK Center and Wheatland Blvd.) E.N.C.O.R.E. E - Education on HIV prevention. N - Needle exchange to reduce the risk of transmitting HIV and other comminicable diseases. C - Counseling on reducing risk, HIV testing, following through on medical care, and substance abuse treatment. O - Outreach into the community to identify potential clients for the E.N.C.O.RE program. RE - Referral to agencies and programs by request from the client.

Family Services Coordinators are in all elementary schools in the City of Newport offering social services case management, literacy activities and other activities to promote positive family/school interactions. Community and Supportive Services Program/Hope VI Initiative East Bay Community Action Program provides case management services to residents of the Newport Housing Authority that reside in the new Newport Heights housing development. This program focuses on economic self-sufficiency. LEAD EDUCATION AND OUTREACH services are provided to tenants and landlords in need of information regarding lead safety and lead abatement, RIHMFC loans for lead abatement. Part of Community Care Alliance, the Agape Center is a community based HIV/AIDS support and resource center whose mission is to provide services, resources, and advocacy for persons living with or affected by HIV/AIDS and to promote community awareness and prevention of the disease. Their Agape Drop-In Center provides resources in a safe, confidential setting where people living with HIV/AIDS are treated with dignity and respect.
