Parents as Teachers provides: Personal Visits—Your Parent Educator will share age-appropriate child development and parenting information, help you learn to observe your child, and address your parenting concerns. Certified Parent Educators provide all four service components, customized to meet the needs of each individual family. We also offer playgroups and other enrichment programs such as field trips and parent workshops.

Provides free, voluntary, confidential home visits to pregnant women and families with young children, birth to age three. Trained nurses, social workers, and community health workers meet with families in their homes to talk about their needs, answer questions they may have, and conduct comprehensive assessments. Home visits are based on the needs of the family. Visit topics may include health education and connections with appropriate healthcare services, human services, and community resources. If a child does not have a medical home, we can help the family find one.

Maternal Child Home Visiting provides child development, health and social services to newborns and their families as well as families with young children. Healthy Families America (HFA) is designed to help parents with understanding and caring for their infant’s needs, building strong parent child connections, breastfeeding and feeding support, and helping children learn and grow to reach their potential. Parents as Teachers (PAT) is a home based program that supports parents by teaching them the skills they need to teach their children and enhance their development and also supports families with monthly community activities and family events. Both programs enrolls pregnant families and families with children up to 4 years old. Both programs are free and help families connect with other services and supports that they feel they need.

Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice offers home care for women with early maternity discharge and post-partum complications. Services include: Breast feeding instruction and support; Wound care; Post partum care and monitoring for complications; Nutritional support; Assessment for maternal depression. Home care is provided to infants and children who have had surgery, an injury, or an illness. Services Included: Wound care; Cast care; Asthma care; Care for new diabetics; Care for seizure disorders; Medication administration; Physical, occupational, or speech therapies; Instruction in use of home medical equipment; Care for premature infants from Special Care Nurseries and Neonatal Intensive Care Units.

Parents As Teachers (PAT) is a program that provides access to resources within our community. PAT is a home visiting program designed to provide all parents of children from prenatal to age five with the information and support they need to give their child the best possible start in life. PAT services are available to all North Kingstown residents, free of charge and delivered by trained and certified home visitors.Parents As Teachers (PAT) is a program of the North Kingstown Public School Department that supports families in understanding child development. Playgroups - held every Thursday morning from 9:30-11:00 at Davisville Academy. Join other families and their young children for a fun and active playtime!

Healthy Families America,provides support to expectant parents and families with infants. Enrolling families early in a pregnancy or shortly after the birth of a newborn is key; once enrolled, families can continue to receive services until their child turns four years old. Family Visitors can support your family to build strong and healthy relationships. Your Family Visitor can also help you become more confident in your role as a parent as it relates to healthy child development. Family Visitors can also help you become more self-sufficient by partnering with you to identify your family’s goals.

Helps identify a family's needs, provides emotional support and links the family to additional supportive resources in the community. Pregnant mothers and families with children 3 months or younger are eligible for this program.
