The Adult Day Services Program provides an array of supportive services designed to upgrade and increase the activities of daily living for older persons dependent upon continual family support and supervision. The Rhode Island Veterans Home is a 110-acre complex on Mount Hope Bay in Bristol. The home provides quality nursing and residential care to Rhode Island war veterans. Scalabrini Villa has designated the Country Unit as a secured Memory Care Unit. This unit specializes in the care of residents with memory loss and dementia related diagnoses. This Special Care Unit has been developed with a team of professionals who are specialists in the disease process and its’ management. All staff involved in the Memory Care unit receive extensive training giving them the background to develop the therapeutic techniques needed to apply to the various behaviors residents demonstrate, and to understand the traumatic impact of dementia on family caregivers. This unit offers two levels of activity programs daily; evening activities, a newly developed sensory room and an outdoor herbal garden/planters. The goal of the Country Unit is to enhance the independence, safety and dignity of the participants despite their progressive cognitive and functional losses.

Hopkins Manor, Ltd. is a 200-bed skilled nursing facility providing traditional nursing home care as well as sub-acute rehabilitation, hospice, respite and alzheimer’s care. They can accommodate both long and short term placement and resident admissions are facilitated seven days a week.
