Our legal practice areas—including housing, immigration, workers’ rights, criminal justice, education, and utility shutoffs—reflect the most pressing needs of low-income people in our state.
At the core of our model is a partnership with Roger Williams University School of Law, which includes a post-graduate fellowship program, collaboration with pro bono and experiential education, and a joint commitment to building the next generation of public interest attorneys in Rhode Island. The Center brings together new lawyers, supervising legal staff, community groups, mentoring attorneys, and law students to make legal protection a reality where need is greatest.

-Provides legal assistance to active and reserve military personnel, family members of Reserve Component members undergoing pre-mobilization legal preparation, military retirees or those receiving disability and their family members, and surviving family members of all the groups noted above
-Provides referrals to attorneys who will to discuss legal problems. Reduced fee referrals are available to income eligible clients. All clients qualify for free half hour consultation. Fees for additional legal services subject to arrangement between client and attorney.

Works to lead and influence change that improves the quality of life for Latinos in Rhode Island. CHisPA works with community groups, educational institutions, federal, state and local government units, foundations and corporations to improve opportunities for Latinos and other minority groups. Services and activities include Information and Referral, an alternative school for high risk youth, community education, leadership development and other capacity-building programs. Technical assistance to emerging local groups and leadership in the areas of health access and education.

Community Legal Clinics | Rhode Island Coalition to End Homelessness
The Homeless Legal Clinic (HLC) was established in the Spring of 1990 in an effort to address the legal needs of homeless people in Rhode Island. The HLC relies on volunteers to provide legal services to the homeless without charge. The objective of the HLC is to serve in an outreach capacity by seeking out homeless and at risk clients at RI shelters. The HLC can provide direct legal services to those who cannot afford an attorney or may be unable to travel to a legal assistance office, are unaware such services exist or may be apprehensive about visiting a lawyer's office.
The services now are being held at Harrington Hall and Crossroads only. The clinics are staffed by Attorney, Phillip Weistein and Attorney Dena Paolino, volunteer law students, and shelter liaisons.
