Intensive Outpatient Program The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at CODAC is an ideal opportunity for those individuals who find they have a need for increased access to support and treatment. IOP is approximately 8 weeks, and consists of individual and group sessions totaling a minimum 9 hours per week. IOPs may be utilized at any point along the treatment or recovery cycle and based on level of therapeutic need. If you are interested in this level of care speak with your CODAC provider. General Outpatient Services General Outpatient Programs are for individuals interested in treatment for Substance Use Disorder symptoms. General Outpatient programs utilize scheduled individual and group counseling sessions and drug/alcohol testing to assist patients in identifying and maintaining healthy life choices. CODAC counselors also work with the patient to integrate recovery support services in their treatment. We will to continue working with patients who have met their initial goals and want to maintain and strengthen their recovery. CODAC counselors work closely with their patients to achieve individual goals and/or meet the requirements of the referring authority. Most importantly, our programs are designed to assist individuals to develop and integrate a recovery oriented lifestyle that includes family, friends, health, wellness, joy and productivity. All CODAC programs emphasize the value recovery oriented lifestyle benefits and encouraged strongly encourage the integration of family members into the treatment and recovery process.

The HomeLink Initiative is designed to work with community health centers, public school districts and early intervention workers to help identify households that are having a housing crisis and then offer quick assistance to ensure that they remain stably housed. HomeLink offers comprehensive homelessness prevention and housing assistance through intensified case management, housing search, and landlord tenant mediation services to at-risk families and individuals. By embedding these prevention services in the health care centers, public schools and early intervention home visiting programs used by low-income households on a daily basis, the HomeLink Initiative has created a seamless entry point to link at-risk households with existing service systems and mainstream resources that can help them stabilize their housing situations, avoiding homelessness.

Catherine T. Murray Memorial Scholarship The Catherine T. Murray Memorial Scholarship supports the philosophy and spirit of OSCIL by facilitating access to education for persons having disability. PLEASE NOTE, ONLY RHODE ISLAND RESIDENTS ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP. The Catherine T. Murray Memorial Scholarship was established in 1995 by Catherine Murray, a long-time educator and also a board member and valued volunteer at the Ocean State Center for Independent Living. It was her wish to support the philosophy and spirit of OSCIL through a scholarship that gives people with disability access to higher education. Grants of $1000+ are awarded to help students with a disability to continue their education past high school. Scholarship funds can be used for educational expenses such as tuition or the purchase of textbooks. They may also be used to obtain assistive/adaptive equipment or devices that aid the student in meeting their educational goals. To qualify for this scholarship applicants must: -have a significant disability -be a Rhode Island resident (Your home address MUST be in RI) -plan to attend a college, technical school, or a trade/vocational program in the upcoming academic year Preference is based on career goals, merit, and economic need.
