Their “No-walls” philosophy puts them in the heart of neighborhoods where clients live—the most distressed and poverty-stricken areas of Rhode Island. Community-based programs service these youth, aged 6-21, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. Vanderburgh House's Rogers Home sober houses offers important services to individuals in early recovery. When leaving treatment, many men have limited options, independent living is difficult, and sober housing offers an attractive alternative to many options available. Offers a structured sober hous for men where every resident is supported in their recovery journeys. Residents live together as a family to develop the tools and strengthen their character in order to live free from substance abuse. Home allows for independence while guided by a set of recovery-focused house rules, standards, and expectations. The core of Vanderburgh structure is abstinence from drugs and alcohol. Residents are engaged in their personal recovery journey by attending meetings and working with a sponsor and a House Manager for support and encouragement. Residents adhere to a curfew, submit to drug and alcohol screenings, and participate in home and community events. The screening is provided free of charge and they go to all community preschool/childcare centers, libraries, schools, etc.
Occupational therapy is a rehabilitative service for people with mental, physical, developmental, or emotional impairments. OT restores or maintains a patient’s ability to perform tasks used in daily living. Our occupational therapists develop ways to modify or adapt activities so that people living with a mental or physical impairment can perform tasks as independently as possible.

State Archives, Library and Public Information The State Archives, State Library, and Public Information Division works to ensure that Rhode Islanders have easy access to government records and publications, state laws, information about legislative sessions, agency regulations, and the structures of state government. There are four units that comprise the Division—the State Archives and The Public Records Administration, the State Library, the Office of Public Information, and the Administrative Rules Office. The State Archives and Public Records Administration ensures that our state’s historic documents are preserved and made accessible to the public. It also oversees a statewide Records Management program to support state agencies and local governments. The State Library assists lawmakers and the public with current and historical research, and serves as the legislative library for the State. The Office of Public Information ensures and strengthens government transparency and accessibility through the publication of meeting minutes and agendas, registration and reporting of lobbying relationships, and disclosures of appointments to State Boards and Commissions. The Administrative Rules Office manages rules and regulations filed with the Department of State by state agencies. Collectively, these units work to ensure that information is transparent, accessible, and available to all Rhode Islanders. Finance & Personnel The Finance & Personnel Division provides human resource support to the employees who work for the Department of State. The Finance & Personnel Division is responsible for managing the budget and vendor relations. eGovernment and Information Technology Division The eGov and IT Division is responsible for ensuring that Rhode Islanders are able to access public records through the Department of State's website and other electronic avenues. The eGov and IT Division maintains the Department of State's infrastructure for internal and public users and provides data sharing capabilities to state agencies throughout Rhode Island.
