The group is aimed primarily at the ostomate but is open to friends, family members, caregivers, including health care professionals or any person interested in the rehabilitation of ostomates. But we have a few apartments that are Low Income Housing Tax Credit Apartments with no rental subsidy. These units (1 & 2 br) are on West Ave in Pawtucket and (2br & 3br) are on Gilmore & Bridgham Streets in Providence. There are no other locations. They have fenced yards and 24 hour emergency maintenance services. No pets allowed. Rents start at $590 with no utilities included. You must have a minimum income of $1,900 per month in order to apply.

For adolescent girls, 13-17. Provides individual, group and family counseling in a long-term residential treatment program for women in recovery from chemical dependency. Daily living in a family atmosphere develops a sense of normalcy and belonging in a non-threatening, supportive, educative and chemically free environment. The program places a strong emphasis on the Twelve Step Program of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. Assertiveness training as well as physical and recreational activities are designed to improve health and appearance. Special emphasis is placed on helping each woman develop positive feelings of self-worth that will support the ultimate goal of sobriety. A relapse prevention specialist provides residential and outpatient relapse prevention services. Eastman House also offers a continuing after care program. A program of BVCAP: RSVP provides opportunities for seniors 55+ to share their time, experience, knowledge and interests with others in the community. RSVP volunteers are connected to networks of seniors who use their skills to provide services and support throughout the community. RSVP volunteers:
  • Provide administrative support, nutrition education, SNAP resources, and community referrals for hunger
  • Deliver meals to home bound clients 5 days a week
  • Provide home visits and companionship to homebound clients
  • Participate with the Wellness Initiatives exercise trainings such as armchair aerobics, water aerobics, line dancing, and tap dancing at Senior Services in Woonsocket
  • Assist in ongoing recruitment, enrollment, and program management of A Matter of Balance (an Evidence Based Fall Prevention Program)
  • Collect, sort, recycle, reuse, or repurpose recyclable materials in Woonsocket RI and surrounding areas
  • Provide education, outreach, and information on disaster preparedness
  • Participate in recognizing and assisting veterans and their families with clothing, heating assistance, weatherization benefits, nutritional information, SNAP, and other community and government resources
  • Partner with persons of disabilities from one on one or small group activities in the catchment area
