These might include basic needs assistance to address emergencies— counseling, treatment, support services and residential programs for individuals and families impacted by serious mental illness and addiction— emergency and supportive housing to prevent homelessness and promote stabilization— alternative education and services for families with young children and adolescents— and employment, financial literacy and vocational training to improve self-sufficiency. They provide clinical and support services for individuals and families with long-term needs associated with mental illness and substance abuse. Their goal is to help people live as independently and as fully integrated within the community as possible

Founded in 1999, the Rhode Island Free Clinic’s mission is to provide free, comprehensive medical care and preventive health services to adults who have no health insurance and cannot afford those services; and to serve as an educational training site for aspiring health care professionals. LaCasa Apartments is subsidized housing 62+, Handicapped or Disabled, featuring 49 1 bedroom units.

Blackstone Valley Arc group homes provide 24-hour supports in a home setting of three to five individuals. Staff assists with adult daily living skills, household chores, budgeting money, medical appointments and social and recreational activities. Group living arrangements offer the best opportunity to receive maximum support and resources. Agency supports many individuals in their own apartments, either on their own or with a roommate. A wide variety of services are provided including training on budgeting, paying bills, shopping, medical appointments, cooking, home maintenance and transportation issues as well as other needs as necessary.

Nurse-Family Partnership is a national evidence-based maternal and child home visiting service for expectant first-time mothers and their newborns. We pair expectant mothers with a registered nurse, who provides free, intensive home visiting services for the mother and her child until the child’s second birthday.
