Special Olympics is a global movement that unleashes the human spirit through the transformative power and joy of sports, every day around the world. Through sports, health, education and community programming, Special Olympics is tackling inactivity, intolerance, isolation and injustice that people throughout the world face, especially people with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Rhode Island is one of the state’s most dynamic programs, providing over 1,600 year-round sports training and athletic competition opportunities to more than 4,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Rhode Island hosts over 40 statewide tournaments and competitions each year in 20 official and demonstration sports.

YPI is committed to building a strong and vocal community of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQQ) youth and their allies to ensure that they are heard and accepted as members and leaders in our community. Youth, ages 13-23, are encouraged to hang out in YPIs Drop-In Center, participate in activities and programming, or use other services such as tutoring or support services. YPI’s drop-in center is a hang out space for LGBTQQ young people and their allies. Play some games, eat a healthy meal, get support and make new friends in a welcoming environment! There’s something different happening every day so come take a dance class, participate in a workshop, do yoga or talk about changing the world. Or just hang out! RI ADDult Support Group This group for adults with ADD/ADHD meets the third Thursday of each month (except July, August and December) in the Pine Room at Bradley Hospital. A safe, positive, educational environment for those dealing with the daily issues of ADD/ADHD is provided. The group is free, but donations are gratefully accepted. Bradley School integrates individual and family therapy and other mental health services with its educational services to treat the behavioral and emotional issues affecting the child's learning. Services include comprehensive and short-term diagnostic evaluations, accredited special education school, summer camp and on-site school counseling. However, because it is staffed by volunteers, anyone needing assistance is asked to call the Social Services department to schedule a time to pick up food. Appointments are made for Wednesday mornings beginning at 9 am or Wednesday afternoons. Emergency situations will open the food bank as needed. Donations to the Food Bank can be dropped off at Town Hall or at the Exeter Public Library. Thanksgiving/Winter Holiday baskets and toy distribution for area residents.

Adopt-A-Spot on the Bike Path: The Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council is looking for groups or individuals to adopt portions of the bike-path to keep it safe and well maintained. Adopting a portion of the path will get you a free t-shirt, litter pick, garbage bags and gloves, a listing on the website, and the satisfaction of making the bike path even more of an asset to the community. You will commit to conduct a weekly cleanup of your section and to be the "eyes and ears" of the path, checking in with Watershed Council when necessary to notify them of problems or issues that you or your group may not be able to deal with such as a fallen tree, graffiti removal, damaged planting etc. Multiple people can adopt the same site. A business can adopt a spot and a sign will be placed along the bike path acknowledging their adoption of that spot.
