Rhode Island Zoological Society (RIZS) is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization that supports and maintains Roger Williams Park Zoo. RIZS works to secure the public and private sector support needed by the Zoo to continue to develop new world-class exhibits, make significant contributions to conservation, and serve the community as a valuable source of environmental education, recreation, and economic development. It has effectively communicated the zoo's mission statement of recreation, education, conservation and research. Funds raised have created important exhibits making Roger Williams Park Zoo one of the few nationally prominent zoos in the Northeast.

Blackstone Valley Arc group homes provide 24-hour supports in a home setting of three to five individuals. Staff assists with adult daily living skills, household chores, budgeting money, medical appointments and social and recreational activities. Group living arrangements offer the best opportunity to receive maximum support and resources. Agency supports many individuals in their own apartments, either on their own or with a roommate. A wide variety of services are provided including training on budgeting, paying bills, shopping, medical appointments, cooking, home maintenance and transportation issues as well as other needs as necessary.

NRS’ Home Free Program, in collaboration with Greyhound Lines, Inc., helps runaway, homeless, and exploited youth return home safely or get to a safe and stable place to stay where they can receive appropriate services. For youth ages 18 to 21, options include returning home or traveling to an approved ALA, such as confirmed residential services housing, including a transitional or independent living program willing to accept them. Youth who were formerly in the child welfare system have the option to travel to a prior adult caregiver.

CODAC offers psychiatric and mental health services at all of their locations. After an initial intake screening you may be referred to an on-site psychiatric practitioner for further evaluation and treatment. Individualized treatment and recovery plans might include medication management supervised by the psychiatric practitioner and ongoing co-occurring counseling with clinical staff. CODAC’s newest site at Eleanor Slater Hospital offers a program for patients with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) that has the ability to utilize alternative therapies in managing chronic pain. For many patients participating in this program, mental health services can be an important part of the treatment and recovery process. It is not unusual to have both mental health disorders and a substance use disorder. Because the two conditions are so closely linked, CODAC has responded to offer you effective treatment and recovery programs to address both disorders concurrently.

Behavioral Medicine Clinical Services assists adult outpatients with the management of chronic medical conditions. Treatment is tailored to individual needs. Psychologists are specially trained to help modify behavioral or lifestyle factors which may perpetuate or exacerbate the symptoms of particular medical conditions. Programs include: Headache Program, Chronic Pain Program, Integrated Behavioral Medicine Services, Management of Chronic Medical Conditions, Smoking Cessation Program, Center for Weight and Wellness

All defendants convicted of a domestic violence crime must undergo a Batterers Intervention Program. A Batterers Intervention Program is a psycho-educational group led by trained professional facilitators. Each meeting is an hour and a half to two hours long, and meetings are held every week for a minimum of 20 weeks. Fees are collected, but programs can make accommodations as needed. Ask your parole officer or program staff about available options. Through these programs, batterers learn to identify abusive behaviors and are taught to react to situations non-abusively and to communicate with their partner. Batterers Intervention Programs differ from, and are not replaceable by, substance abuse treatments, mental health services, or family, marital, couples or other counseling. Participants are held accountable for their attendance, must be on time, and cannot miss a meeting. While participation is often court-ordered, individuals can also voluntarily attend by contacting the program that serves the area in which they live. Those who voluntarily sign up are still expected to follow through with the commitment and adhere to attendance policies.

Because issues associated with serious disabilities can be physical as well as emotional, SNERC sponsors support groups for patients who have had a brain injury, stroke or spinal cord injury as well as host a family education and orientation group. Stroke Support Group The Fatima All S.T.A.R.S. (Stroke, Together, Advocacy, Recovery, Support) invite you to join "HOPE after STROKE" meetings which take place in the rear of the 4 South dining room at Fatima Hospital. Spinal Cord Support Group Meetings take place in the outpatient therapy gym at Southern New England Rehabilitation Center’s Providence location at St. Joseph Health Center, 21 Peace Street. The gym is located on the third floor on the west wing.
