The Rhode Island State Nurses Association (RISNA), a constituent member of the American Nurses Association (ANA), is the authority on matters concerning the profession of nursing and nursing practice in the state of Rhode Island. RISNA is dedicated to the promotion, advancement, and protection of nursing thereby improving the quality of and access to health care in Rhode Island.

Services: Thirteen senior meal sites in northern Rhode Island serve a weekday lunch geared to the nutrition requirements of people over 60 (reservations required). Weekday day care for frail seniors and disabled; information and referral including assistance with health insurance, fuel assistance, tax abatements and enrollment in benefit programs. The MME counselors host outreach events throughout the state to promote what they do as well as to bring services to those whom might need their help. These events will also allow the community members to learn and connect with all the different resources available to them.

CASA: Provides advocacy in court for the best interests of children who are the victims of abuse and/or neglect and are therefore involved with the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) and the Rhode Island Family Court. Staff includes attorney, guardians ad litem and Social Caseworkers. Program also trains volunteers to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates.

The town of Jamestown proudly supports its senior center and provides a broad base of social, health and wellness and learning programs to its residents 55+. The town of Jamestown encourages engagement into its programs and provides affordable access to support aging in our community. Transportation is provided for specific programs. Please check back regularly as we will be updating offerings often. The Jamestown Senior Center is located at 6 West Street. We offer weekday full service luncheons for a suggested donation of $3.00. Hot meals are available for in-house dining with a separate cold sandwich option for Grab & Go to be picked up at the Senior Center between 11:30am and 12:30pm. Hot meals are for those dining in.
