A Bed for Every Child: The Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless partners with public schools to assist students whose families are at risk of becoming homeless by providing beds, pillows and linens to children going without.

Elmwood Commons is a subsidized housing community. Most apartments have Section 8 contract rents – you must go to the office to fill out these applications in order to get on the wait lists. But we have a few apartments that are Low Income Housing Tax Credit Apartments with no rental subsidy. These units (1 & 2 br) are on West Ave in Pawtucket and (2br & 3br) are on Gilmore & Bridgham Streets in Providence. There are no other locations.

Preventive dental care (such as brushing and diet/nutrition recommendations); regular cleaning and fluoride treatments; and use of sealants to prevent cavities. Dr. Paquin also may: Provide mouth guards (to prevent sports injuries) Provide or recommend special preventive care to safeguard against problems, such as teething and gum disease Offer habit counseling (e.g., thumb sucking, pacifier use) Offer assessment and treatment for teeth straightening and improper bite in the young child (orthodontics) Repair tooth cavities and/or defects Diagnose oral conditions associated with diseases such as diabetes, congenital heart defects, asthma and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder Diagnose and treat dental developmental difficulties (e.g., root canals on adult teeth that have not fully formed) Provide management of gum diseases and conditions, such as pediatric periodontal disease, ulcers and tongue-tie (when the membrane that attaches the tongue to the floor of the mouth is shorter than normal. If tongue-tie interferes with breastfeeding, a Dr. Paquin can clip the membrane to release the tongue) Care for dental injuries (e.g., fractured or knocked-out teeth)

The Senior and Disabilities Services at United Way, also known as the POINT, is a statewide resource network that provides information, referrals, and long-term care options to seniors, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers. Get valuable information and assistance about:

• Information and assistance regarding home and community care
• State Health Insurance Program (SHIP)
• Public assistance programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, LIHEAP, and others.
• Information regarding other valuable resources in the community such as healthcare fraud and home care

This service is free and confidential.

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps eligible low-income households pay their heating bills through federal grants to the household. There are two components to this program. Heating Assistance: A grant to assist a household in meeting heating costs. The grant may be paid to either a heating fuel vendor or utility company, or in a few cases, directly to the applicant. Crisis Assistance: A grant to help resolve a home heating crisis caused by a heat shut-off because of failure to pay a regulated energy bill, the inability to pay for deliverable fuel, or the failure of a heating system that is not repairable. The BEC specialist is able to assist with the application process.

If you’re recovering at home from injury or surgery, or living with a medical condition, you may need occupational therapy to help you do the things you need and want to do in all aspects of life. These everyday activities could include eating, bathing, grooming, dressing and other self-care activities. Our occupational therapy team will improve your ability to perform these activities. We also can assess your home environment and make recommendations to help you live there safely.

Support group for people who feel powerless over food. Members help each other to lose weight and keep it off, share experiences and support each other's abstinence from overeating.
