Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps eligible low-income households pay their heating bills through federal grants to the household. There are two components to this program. Heating Assistance: A grant to assist a household in meeting heating costs. The grant may be paid to either a heating fuel vendor or utility company, or in a few cases, directly to the applicant. Crisis Assistance: A grant to help resolve a home heating crisis caused by a heat shut-off because of failure to pay a regulated energy bill, the inability to pay for deliverable fuel, or the failure of a heating system that is not repairable. The Rhode Island Veterans Home is a 110-acre complex on Mount Hope Bay in Bristol. The home provides quality nursing and residential care to Rhode Island war veterans. Some of the services provided include social, medical, nursing and rehabilitative services. Services Approximately 208 beds. Assisted living and nursing care, including secure units (Alzheimer's care) and palliative care. X-ray, dental, and pharmacy services, physical therapy and occupational therapy, psych services, transportation to PVAMC. Rehabilitation Services includes physical and occupational therapy. Social Services includes individual and group therapy and specialized support groups. Thundermist runs school-based health centers to provide primary care services to students in schools, during the school day. Services at The Health Hut include: physical exams (including school and sports physicals), immunizations, sick visits, treatment of minor injuries, health education, chronic care management (i.e. asthma, diabetes), and dental services-including examinations and hygiene services. School-based health centers work closely with school personnel including principals, school nurse teachers, and student support staff. The UCP Rhode Island Children & Family Services program provides services to children with disabilities and their families under Rhode Island�s Home Based Therapeutic Services Program (HBTS). Works with families to develop service plans for their children and assists the families to secure HBTS funding. Once a plan is approved, UCPRI provides case management and services, therapies, and training for the child and family.
