Programs that pick up and impound or return to their owners domestic animals who have strayed from their homes. Also included are programs that enforce leash laws and animal sanitation ordinances and those that handle complaints regarding domestic animals who have bitten someone or are otherwise making nuisances of themselves. Most animal control programs are unable to handle nuisance wildlife unless the animal is sick or shows symptoms of rabies.

Best Buddies Friendship programs build one-to-one friendships between people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), offering social mentoring while improving the quality of life and level of inclusion for a population that is often isolated and excluded. Through their participation, people with IDD form meaningful connections with their peers, gain self-confidence and self-esteem, and share interests, experiences and activities that many other individuals enjoy. They offer e-Buddies: a safe place online to develop one-to-one friendships between people with and without IDD. By joining e-Buddies, participants become more comfortable using technology to communicate with friends, gain computer literacy skills, and are better equipped to socialize online in the future.

In fact federal, state and medical regulatory organizations require the combination of counseling with Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) as ‘best practice’ of quality care. You will have access to highly trained, experiences, licensed, caring professionals – who see that you are so much more that your current addiction. CODAC has been Rhode Island’s partners in recovery since 1971. We are proud of the high professional regard in which our administrative, clinical and medical staff is held in the opioid treatment community. Housing- two operating 6 unit apartment building for individuals with differing abilities and who meet income guidelines established by RI Housing. Shared Living- if an individual is interested in shared living, the agency will work with them to identify a home care provider preferably someone with whom they already have a relationship. 24 hour Supported Living Services- individuals who require a more intense level of support and supervision may choose to live in one of the 6 homes or 5 apartments operated by this agency within which 24 hour staff supports are available. Focus within these homes is on supporting individuals to develop skills needed to live, work and play successfully in their community.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers Catholic Social Services of RI has trained 16 new Class Leaders who are certified to teach the Powerful Tools for Caregivers Program. The six week classes (1.5 hours each week) provide a self-care education program for family caregivers. The Powerful Tools for Caregivers program will provide you with tools and strategies to better handle the unique caregiver challenges you face. The Unit provides a safe, structured environment that meets physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs throughout the disease progression. An emphasis is placed on residents succeeding, dignity, and support of family members. Short Term Rehabilitative Care Short Term Rehabilitative Care is designed for individuals in need of rehabilitation following hip or knee replacement, heart attack, stroke, or other acute medical event. Our goal is to rehabilitate individuals to restore their previous level of functioning with the goal of returning back to their home. Skilled nursing services; on-site physical, occupational, and speech therapies are available. Short term stays range from one week to several weeks, depending upon the individual’s medical condition. Hospice Suite The Hospice Suite provides care for terminally ill individuals who qualify for general inpatient level of care. The Suite affords residents a lovely homelike environment with ample room for visiting family members.
