Garden City Treatment Center treats all acute urgent and non-urgent medical, gynecological, surgical and orthopedic conditions for adults and children. The medical facility is fully equipped with laboratory services, a physical therapy facility and has entirely operational X-Ray rooms located within the treatment center. Able to provide easy access to MRI, CTSCAN, and Ultrasound. Life-threatening emergencies (such as severe trauma, automobile accident victims, etc.) are encouraged to go directly to a hospital emergency room where full back-up services (such as blood banks and operating rooms) are readily available. Garden City Treatment Center is the only privately owned, free standing emergency room licensed by the State of Rhode Island. GCTC offers medical examination for: School sports physicals, University/College physicals, Insurance and pre-employment physicals, including urine drug screens and blood alcohol screens), DOT physicals and urine drug screens, Urine drug and alcohol screens. Grassroots recovery community organization of individuals supporting those in recovery and those seeking recovery with peer support/referrals/social events. Dedicated to developing a voice of empowerment for, and decreasing the stigma about, alcohol and other drug dependency recovery. RICARES works with various agencies, in all sectors of business; private, public, and for profit; to conduct focused outreach. Their goal is establish the presence of people in long term recovery at all levels of the community.

VSA arts Rhode Island maintains an ongoing student exhibition at the RI Department of Education's headquarters in downtown Providence to showcase the variety of artwork produced in the Access the Arts residencies and increase exposure for the talents of these student artists. This program expands awareness of the importance of arts in education. VSA arts Rhode Island provides poetry workshops for adults developmental disabilities, conducted by professional poets, at a variety of community sites throughout Rhode Island. A statewide poetry competition is sponsored annually with Blackstone Valley RI ARC. The first place recipient is given the Allen Ginsberg Poetry Prize. Additionally, VSA arts works with Rhode Island poets to participate in the International “One Heart, One World” Exhibition and other national poetry events. VSA arts Rhode Island, in collaboration with community organizations and galleries, presents exhibitions of artwork created by both emerging and established adult RI artists with disabilities, and sponsors artist receptions that engage the general public. These exhibitions provide programmatic services vital to artists’ professional development

Services: Provides outpatient rehabilitation programs to people of all ages with a wide range of functional disabilities caused by accident, illness, or developmental delay. Programs offered are day school program for children ages 3 - 21, with language/learning disorders and brain injury; brain injury day treatment program for adult clients; comprehensive outpatient program and vocational rehabilitation services. Offers evaluation and treatment in audiology, speech/language therapy, special education, occupational/physical therapy, psychological/social services and vocational training. Special features include non-commercial advice on hearing aids, augmentative communication systems, group treatment services, parent workshops, support groups and consult services. A support group for adults whose loved ones have died by suicide. The group is comprised of spouses, siblings, and parents who have suffered this particular loss. Meetings are on Wednesdays, in eight week blocks, from 6:00PM - 7:30PM.

THE SCITUATE ANIMAL SHELTER is a municipal facility under the supervision of Scituate Animal Control, a division of the Scituate, Rhode Island Police Department. They take in animals from Scituate and Foster and provide care until we can find good homes for them. They also socialize all cats and dogs who need such work in order to be ready for life in a home and with a family. The shelter staff and the volunteers will go to great lengths to find homes for all animals that we have at the shelter.

Behavioral Medicine Clinical Services assists adult outpatients with the management of chronic medical conditions. Treatment is tailored to individual needs. Psychologists are specially trained to help modify behavioral or lifestyle factors which may perpetuate or exacerbate the symptoms of particular medical conditions.
