THE SCITUATE ANIMAL SHELTER is a municipal facility under the supervision of Scituate Animal Control, a division of the Scituate, Rhode Island Police Department. They take in animals from Scituate and Foster and provide care until we can find good homes for them. They also socialize all cats and dogs who need such work in order to be ready for life in a home and with a family. The shelter staff and the volunteers will go to great lengths to find homes for all animals that we have at the shelter.

The Alcohol and Drug Inpatient Unit provides acute treatment for adults who are actively addicted to alcohol and/or other drugs. Detoxification with intensive medical supervision is provided for people who do not have the support or detoxify for an outpatient basis.

Washington County Community Development Corporation provides decent affordable housing for residents of Washington County. Programs: Home Repair Program - WC CDC manages the popular Home Repair program for all towns in Washington County, as well as West Greenwich and Exeter. This program provides grants and loans to income eligible home owners. These grants and loans are intended to ensure folks remain in their homes by performing reasonable and necessary repairs. We focus on code violations, health and safety issues, and any other repairs needed to maintain a healthy safe and sanitary dwelling. Help with roof, window, electric, plumbing and structural repairs that are necessary for your health and safety. Septic and well replacement programs are also available. Housing Preservation Grants - WC CDC provides grants awarded through USDA Rural Development. These grants supplement the CDBG Home Repair Program in rural towns in Washington County. CDBG Management - WC CDC manages the Community Development Block Grants for 9 Towns. These grants are utilized by non profits throughout the region to provide services and /or improve public facilities. WC CDC services include: Applications, State Contracts, Environmental Reviews, Sub recipient contracts, Payments, Reporting and Documentation, Affordable Housing Development. RIRAL’s free English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESL/ESOL) offer students from foreign countries an opportunity to learn English. Classes are divided into beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. ESOL classes prepare students to live, work and study in the United States. As ESOL students advance, they may transition into our adult basic and adult secondary education classes, college transition program, or a job training program.

Assisted Daily Living, Inc. provides clients with a wide array of services designed to ensure superior patient care in the familiar comfort of home, often providing a happier and more affordable alternative to nursing, or assisted living facilities. Services can be arranged for a few hours a week or around the clock. ADL begins by reviewing the specific needs of the client through discussions with family members, as well as the care recipient's doctor, social workers or therapists. A customized program of care is developed to manage the client's daily needs. ADL will match the clients needs to the best possible caregiver, based on both professional experience and on ability characteristics. THERAPIST'S - PT, OT, ST: Therapists including physical therapists, occupational and speech therapists assist in the rehabilitation of those with physical injuries or disease. Restoration of mobility, strength, dexterity, balance and communication skills is often the purpose for therapy.
