A Batterers Intervention Program is a psycho-educational group led by trained professional facilitators. Each meeting is an hour and a half to two hours long, and meetings are held every week for a minimum of 20 weeks. Fees are collected, but programs can make accommodations as needed. Ask your parole officer or program staff about available options. Participants are held accountable for their attendance, must be on time, and cannot miss a meeting. Address issues of: victimization and perpetuation of abuse, substance use, mental health, domestic violence, anger management and trauma. Individuals are referred by the court and legal entities

Youth Prevention Services Adult and Youth Education, Employment & Training Senior and Disabled Adult Case Management Program: available to assist with a multitude of services including nutrition services, healthcare and medical assistance, home health aides, home modifications, elder abuse prevention, and when necessary, nursing home referrals. The Working Wardrobe is Westbay’s clothing collaborative. The program provides free work-appropriate clothing to low-income adults entering the workforce.

The goal of the Weatherization Assistance Program is to improve energy efficiency for income-eligible households while assuring health and safety. Our energy auditors, who are BPI certified, will evaluate the home/apartment to determine what can be done to improve heating and cooling efficiencies. The energy conservation resulting from these efforts helps reduce dependency on foreign oil and decreases the cost of energy for consumers while improving the health and safety of their homes.

Reach Out and Read Rhode Island national nonprofit organization since 1989 now reaching nearly 4.5 million low-income families each year, Reach Out and Read builds on the unique relationship between doctors and patients to spread the message that reading aloud is the most important thing parents can do to help their children love books and start school ready to learn. With more than 5,500 participating programs across the nation, 66 of those here in Rhode Island, Reach Out and Read teaches millions of families the importance of reading aloud.

The Cranston Fire Department manages the Emergency Management Agency. The Cranston EMA is responsible for emergency planning, operating shelters, planning evacuation routes and managing the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).

For adolescent girls, 13-17. Provides individual, group and family counseling in a long-term residential treatment program for women in recovery from chemical dependency. Daily living in a family atmosphere develops a sense of normalcy and belonging in a non-threatening, supportive, educative and chemically free environment. The program places a strong emphasis on the Twelve Step Program of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. Assertiveness training as well as physical and recreational activities are designed to improve health and appearance. Special emphasis is placed on helping each woman develop positive feelings of self-worth that will support the ultimate goal of sobriety. A relapse prevention specialist provides residential and outpatient relapse prevention services. Eastman House also offers a continuing after care program. Through group therapy we also work on women's concerns, abuse issues and trauma. Income Source: State, private foundations, donations, fund raising
