Youth Transition For young people with disability, life before completing high school is very different than life afterwards. OSCIL provides a variety of services to help students and recent graduates gain the skills and resources needed to make this transition into adulthood. Assisting youth in transitioning from high school to adult life is a core service provided by OSCIL, including next steps such as going to college or finding employment. OSCIL works together with state and local government and public entities to eliminate architectural, communication, and attitudinal barriers. OSCIL has provided technical assistance to T.F. Greene Airport, area hospitals, Roger Williams Park, the Board of Canvassers, and many other private businesses and organizations to comply with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) and Rhode Island Law 42-87-2. Individuals who experience barriers in the community, i.e. inaccessible restaurants, public events, schools, etc. are encouraged to call OSCIL for information and assistance. Part of OSCIL’s mission is to bring information to the community to help address barriers to independent living. Check our behavior resource library for solutions, our dog training classes, or our free behavior helpline. Rehoming your Own Pet, Surrendering Pets to the Potter League for Animals. We ask that you fill out a relinquishment personality profile form of the animal you are wishing to surrender: Dog personality profile, Cat Personality Profile, Small Mammal Personality Profile. You will receive an email once the surrender profile is reviewed. A Potter League counselor will be in contact to schedule an appointment or discuss other options for your pet. We may recommend a referral to another agency that is better equipped to assist you. Appointments are necessary and required to ensure the best possible solution for you and your pet. Gather necessary paperwork. Collect your pets medical history, if available. Please bring these records to your appointment. Your appointment will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. For everyone's safety, all pets should be either in a carrier or on a collar and leash when entering the building. Surrender Fees Dog or Puppy- $50, Cat or Kitten $35, Litters of 3+ Kittens $50, Rabbits $25, All other Small Animals $10.
