The mission of The Center for Individualized training and Education is to empower students with unique needs to make progress in light of their individual circumstances. Student respect, value, and self-worth are the cornerstones of their multi-disciplinary team approach to enable students to function within their community in the least restrictive environment. The Center operates an educational facility providing complete diagnostic and rehabilitative services for the developmentally disabled, retarded and behaviorally disordered individuals, including psychological therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy; social and educational services.

Ages Served: Grade 9-12; 20% of students are special education. Services: A member of the Coalition of Essential Schools since 1987, School One is a private innovative high school with a student centered approach to learning.

Public charter high school founded to serve pregnant and parenting young adults. Serve 160 students in campuses located in Providence and Central Falls. While this school is designed to serve pregnant and parenting young adults, students from all backgrounds and from all communities in Rhode Island are welcome. Nowell partners with Children’s Workshop located at 151 Hunt Street to make childcare available to students on a first-come, first-served basis in emergencies.

The Compass School purpose of the school is to provide an academic foundation which promotes cognitive and physical developmental skills. These skills result in social and emotional growth in students allowing them to develop the ability to solve complex problems through careful thought and consideration of others.
