Vocational Centers | J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center

Services: Provides services for about 1,200 children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families. Includes Early Intervention, home based children's services, respite care, family support, Pathways Strategic Teaching Center, (an educational school based on Applied Behavior analysis for children with autism or pervasive development disorders), Supported Employment, Vocational and Job Placement and Evaluation Services for Adults, Day Habilitation Services, Residential and Community Living, and Recreation Services. We also have affiliations with Crayons Child Care and Family Services to provide integrated child care and kindergarten services and with JONAH Community Center to provide services for elderly folks with developmental disabilities. Our Feinstein/Trudeau Training Center, sponsored by the Feinstein Foundation, offers college accredited training for direct support professional staff through the Community College of Rhode island. Vocational Centers | Community Kitchen

Services: A culinary training program for low-income, unemployed and welfare-to-work adults based on a national model that provides a full time 14-week/400 hour program. Throughout the training program, students use donated meat, packaged and canned goods, prepared and perishable food and fresh produce from our Community Harvest program to create nutritious meals for community meal sites and Kids Cafe, a community meal program exclusively for children at risk of hunger. This program offers training, workshops, hands on experience, certifications and employment opportunities. Community Kitchen provides a full chef�s uniform. FIP recipients receive transportation reimbursement and free child care during the program

Vocational Centers | Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training

The RI Department of Labor and Training provides workforce development, workforce security and workforce protection to the state's workers, employers and citizens, offering employment services, educational services and economic opportunity to both individuals and employers. DLT protects the workforce by enforcing labor laws, prevailing wage rates and workplace health and safety standards. The department also provides temporary income support to unemployed and temporarily disabled workers.

Vocational Centers | Cranston Adult Education

Provides free ESL, ABE, Pre-GED, and GED classes. The Center is an official GED testing site. Testing fee applies. Another program offered is the External Diploma Program, a competency based program. In addition, we offer vocational training programs and adult education courses. Services: Provides outpatient rehabilitation programs to people of all ages with a wide range of functional disabilities caused by accident, illness, or developmental delay. Programs offered are day school program for children ages 3 - 21, with language/learning disorders and brain injury; brain injury day treatment program for adult clients; comprehensive outpatient program and vocational rehabilitation services. Offers evaluation and treatment in audiology, speech/language therapy, special education, occupational/physical therapy, psychological/social services and vocational training. Vocational Centers | Year Up Rhode Island

A one-year, intensive training program that provides urban young adults, ages 18-24, with a combination of hands-on skill development, an educational stipend, and corporate apprenticeships. During the first six months of the program, participants focus on skill mastery in Desktop Support / IT Help Desk; and the professional skills required in today's workplace such as effective communication, leadership, and teamwork. During the second six months of the program, students are placed in apprenticeships with local partner companies. A stipend is provided to all participants throughout the one-year, full-time educational program. In addition, Year Up students have an opportunity to earn up to 18 college credits through articulation agreements with NEIT and J&W University.
