Throughout the training program, students use donated meat, packaged and canned goods, prepared and perishable food and fresh produce from our Community Harvest program to create nutritious meals for community meal sites and Kids Cafe, a community meal program exclusively for children at risk of hunger. This program offers training, workshops, hands on experience, certifications and employment opportunities.
Community Kitchen provides a full chef�s uniform. FIP recipients receive transportation reimbursement and free child care during the program

A one-year, intensive training program that provides urban young adults, ages 18-24, with a combination of hands-on skill development, an educational stipend, and corporate apprenticeships. During the first six months of the program, participants focus on skill mastery in Desktop Support / IT Help Desk; and the professional skills required in today's workplace such as effective communication, leadership, and teamwork. During the second six months of the program, students are placed in apprenticeships with local partner companies. A stipend is provided to all participants throughout the one-year, full-time educational program. In addition, Year Up students have an opportunity to earn up to 18 college credits through articulation agreements with NEIT and J&W University.
