The Tri-County Community Action Agency Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) provides supplemental foods, healthcare referrals and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk. Upon enrollment into the WIC program, we will complete a nutritional assessment for you and your eligible family members. We will then offer education on healthy eating, monthly vouchers for nutritious foods including eggs, milk, cheese, peanut butter, beans, tuna, fruits, vegetables, whole grain breads, rice, iron fortified cereals, and juice as well as many other valuable resources. Please note: 1. When using the eWIC card combined with other methods of payment participants must cash out in this order: eWIC first, then SNAP, then cash/credit in order for the transaction to complete. 2. Participants can’t get a balance inquiry at the self-checkout register. They need to go to the main register with a cashier within the self-checkout area for a balance inquiry. 3. Services: Provides nutritious foods and nutrition education to pregnant, postpartum and breast feeding women, infants and children (less than five years of age) with limited income. The Program is administered through health centers and selected hospitals. Through the Farmers Market Program WIC families are able to purchase locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables at farmers' markets across the State.
