Developer of affordable housing. Lending Programs for the purchase, repair and/or refinancing of an existing home providing HUD approves foreclosure prevention counseling. Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supplemental Feeding and Nutrition Program provides food vouchers, allowing them to purchase milk, eggs, cheese, juice and iron fortified cereals and formula. The WIC coordinator provides nutrition education and counseling to all program participants on a monthly basis.

Washington County Community Development Corporation provides decent affordable housing for residents of Washington County. Programs: Home Repair Program - WC CDC manages the popular Home Repair program for all towns in Washington County, as well as West Greenwich and Exeter. This program provides grants and loans to income eligible home owners. These grants and loans are intended to ensure folks remain in their homes by performing reasonable and necessary repairs. We focus on code violations, health and safety issues, and any other repairs needed to maintain a healthy safe and sanitary dwelling. Help with roof, window, electric, plumbing and structural repairs that are necessary for your health and safety. Septic and well replacement programs are also available. Housing Preservation Grants - WC CDC provides grants awarded through USDA Rural Development. These grants supplement the CDBG Home Repair Program in rural towns in Washington County. CDBG Management - WC CDC manages the Community Development Block Grants for 9 Towns. These grants are utilized by non profits throughout the region to provide services and /or improve public facilities. WC CDC services include: Applications, State Contracts, Environmental Reviews, Sub recipient contracts, Payments, Reporting and Documentation, Affordable Housing Development. WC CDC has developed 124 units of affordable housing since 2005, by either partnering with another non profit or on our own. Smith Hill Community Development Corporation (CDC) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing safe, affordable housing. Smith Hill CDC offers home ownership and rental opportunities in the Smith Hill and Wanskuck neighborhoods of Providence, Rhode Island. Since its incorporation over 175 rental, homeowner, condominium, and landlord units have been established. Additionally, it is the first CDC in Rhode Island to offer Permanent Supportive Housing for survivors of domestic violence. As well as housing development and management, the Smith Hill CDC offers resident services, community garden beautification, youth programming, and neighborhood events.

Tall Ships America is a nonprofit organization focused on youth education, leadership development and the preservation of the maritime heritage of North America. In addition to organizing the TALL SHIPS CHALLENGE Series, Tall Ships America manages scholarship programs to make sail training experiences more affordable for young people, grant programs to assist crew of member vessels with the costs of professional development courses and licensing requirements and publishes SAIL TALL SHIPS! A Directory of Sail Training and Adventure at Sea. The Tall Ships Challenge Series of international sailing races, cruises, and maritime festivals is organized by Tall Ships America in cooperation with Great Lakes, Atlantic and Pacific Coast port cities in the United States and Canada. Tall ships are crewed by young people and adults engaged in sail training programs under the supervision of captains and professional crew members. Maritime festivals in each host port give visitors a chance to board the vessels, meet the crew and trainees, and experience the rich maritime heritage that these ships represent.

ONE Neighborhood Builders is a nonprofit community development organization dedicated to revitalizing Providence neighborhoods. Olneyville Housing Corporation, founded in 1988, changed its name to ONE Neighborhood Builders when it merged with Community Works Rhode Island in 2015. To date, we have developed 375 affordable apartments and over 115 for-sale homes, as well as more than 50,000 square feet of commercial and community space. These spaces include many properties that were formerly foreclosed and blighted in addition to historic buildings that ONE|NB works to preserve, saving landmarks while creating vibrant spaces to work and live.
