The Wyatt Detention Facility is a maximum security, 746-bed facility housing adult detainees who are in the custody of the US Marshal Service (USMS). It is Rhode Island�s only adult correction facility to be accredited by the American Correctional Association (ACA). The facility is owned and operated by the Central Falls Detention Facility Corporation, a quasi-private corporation made of up a five-member board of directors.

The Unit provides a safe, structured environment that meets physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs throughout the disease progression. An emphasis is placed on residents succeeding, dignity, and support of family members. Short Term Rehabilitative Care Short Term Rehabilitative Care is designed for individuals in need of rehabilitation following hip or knee replacement, heart attack, stroke, or other acute medical event. Our goal is to rehabilitate individuals to restore their previous level of functioning with the goal of returning back to their home. Skilled nursing services; on-site physical, occupational, and speech therapies are available. Short term stays range from one week to several weeks, depending upon the individual’s medical condition. Hospice Suite The Hospice Suite provides care for terminally ill individuals who qualify for general inpatient level of care. The Suite affords residents a lovely homelike environment with ample room for visiting family members.

OSCIL assist people with disabilities in locating available services and products such as affordable, accessible housing, transportation options, adaptive equipment, support services, and more. OSCIL’s Information and Referral program provides consumers and their families, service providers, and the general public with information on a wide array of community resources and disability services. Information can be obtained via phone, e-mail, fax or in person. OSCIL’s Signs of Independence quarterly newsletter provides information on disability issues to consumers and service providers. As a designated agency for “The Point”, OSCIL Information and Referral Coordinators provide up-to-date information on a vast array of agency and community services. NORD provides assistance programs to help patients obtain life-saving or life-sustaining medication they could not otherwise afford. These programs provide medication, financial assistance with insurance premiums and co-pays, diagnostic testing assistance, and travel assistance for clinical trials or consultation with disease specialists.

Programs, often operated by community adult schools or other secondary or postsecondary educational entities, that offer specialized education and training related to any of a variety of occupational areas for adults who may have high school diplomas and for selected high school students or high-school-age youngsters who have the permission of a school counselor.

Public charter high school founded to serve pregnant and parenting young adults. Serve 160 students in campuses located in Providence and Central Falls. OSCIL works together with state and local government and public entities to eliminate architectural, communication, and attitudinal barriers. OSCIL has provided technical assistance to T.F. Greene Airport, area hospitals, Roger Williams Park, the Board of Canvassers, and many other private businesses and organizations to comply with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) and Rhode Island Law 42-87-2. Individuals who experience barriers in the community, i.e. inaccessible restaurants, public events, schools, etc. are encouraged to call OSCIL for information and assistance. Part of OSCIL’s mission is to bring information to the community to help address barriers to independent living. This includes presentations on: -Assistive technology demonstrations -Barriers to effective communication -How Center services can help your independent living goals -Understanding nursing home transition -Utilizing telecommunication devices for the Deaf -How home modifications can increase access in a home -Young adult independent living skills training -Effective public testimony

An independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan public policy research and education organization dedicated to the advancement of effective, efficient and equitable government in Rhode Island. Public Finance: RIPEC worked with State leaders to restructure and reduce the personal income tax system, reduce capital gains taxes, enact property tax cap legislation, phase-out the business inventory tax and change the frequency of property revaluation. In addition, RIPEC has played a critical role in reforming state government through landmark pension and health care reform. Education: RIPEC worked with legislative leaders in the adoption of a school funding formula - the first in fifteen years - and developed school accountability initiatives which were translated into landmark education reform legislation (Article 31). RIPEC has also been involved in on-going research on consolidation options on Aquidneck Island and around the State. Human Services: RIPEC partnered with the United Way to develop a comprehensive analysis of the State's social safety net and has been involved in efforts to monitor the State's progress on reforming entitlement programs. Economic Development: RIPEC has worked with business leaders and General Assembly membership to improve Rhode Island's perceived business friendliness, including the passage of historic personal income tax reform legislation.

A 15 month residential program for women with life controlling problems such as drug addiction, alcoholism, prostitution, eating disorders, etc.

This historic building, formerly known as St. Maria's Home. This mid-rise has been restored to its original grandeur and offers 57 subsidized units of elderly housing comprised of 5 studio units and 52 one-bedroom units. The Governor was completed in December of 1996 and continues to provide quality housing for elderly citizens who otherwise would be residing in a public senior citizen facility.
