FOOD/HOT MEALS In their fight against hunger and food insecurity, they provide thousands of meals annually through a great team of volunteers in four primary communities: Woonsocket, Pawtucket, Providence, and West Warwick. They serve healthy fresh meals to those in need. They go beyond handing out care packages by serving hot meals to the homeless. At their weekly food services, their volunteers provide a valuable human interaction and guidance to available programs to those in need. In addition, we may deliver food to those who cannot reach their food distribution locations. The Ocean State Center for Independent Living (OSCIL) works in collaboration with the Gift of Hearing Program at the University of Rhode Island (URI) Speech & Hearing Center to provide low cost hearing aids to those in need.

OSCIL assist people with disabilities in locating available services and products such as affordable, accessible housing, transportation options, adaptive equipment, support services, and more. OSCIL’s Information and Referral program provides consumers and their families, service providers, and the general public with information on a wide array of community resources and disability services. Information can be obtained via phone, e-mail, fax or in person. OSCIL’s Signs of Independence quarterly newsletter provides information on disability issues to consumers and service providers. As a designated agency for “The Point”, OSCIL Information and Referral Coordinators provide up-to-date information on a vast array of agency and community services. The purpose of this is to bring solutions to the problems faced by individuals with disabilities.

PASA's mission is to expand and improve after-school opportunities for the youth of Providence by organizing a system to ensure all youth access to high-quality after-school programs and learning opportunities. Students who are Providence residents and earn digital badges will be extended an offer of a summer job for the summer of 2018 through Workforce Solutions – an office of the City of Providence. A variety of summer youth employment opportunities are made available each year through Workforce Solutions to over 500 Providence youth. With this badge youth will qualify to be first in line for one of several career–oriented positions offered by a host of exciting community organizations and businesses. Students who earn badges and are not Providence residents will receive a recommendation letter from the City of Providence for summer employment through their local workforce board.

The Adult Basic Education program includes academic assessments, classes for GED exam preparation, Adult Basic Education, post secondary educational assistance, and alternative diploma programs.

Blackstone Valley Pediatrics provides Primary Health care for children and adolescents

Provides advocacy in court for the best interests of children who are the victims of abuse and/or neglect and are therefore involved with the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) and the Rhode Island Family Court. Staff includes attorney, guardians ad litem and Social Caseworkers. Program also trains volunteers to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates.

Home/community based case management program available to Neighborhood Health Plan/RIte Care members. The goal of OSP is for the client to remain in the community and avoiding a higher level of care. Services provided may include assistance with obtaining transportation to outpatient mental health appointments, collaboration with service providers, ensuring clear and consistent communication with primary care physician, assistance with meeting basic needs through case management, providing education to client regarding their mental health diagnoses and prescribed medications, collaborate with providers to support regular use of the skills learned in therapy, and to address barriers to treatment. Individual and family therapy; Case management; Behavior management; and Parenting support and education.
