The Good Neighbor Energy Fund (GNEF) helps individuals and families who, because of financial difficulty, needs assistance paying a current energy expense and meets eligibility guidelines. The Providence Animal Control Division protects the health and safety of our residents and their pets with progressive leadership and education, and continues to engage the hearts and minds of the community to help all animals. As of November 2015, the Animal Control Division has adopted a “low risk euthanasia” philosophy of healthy adoptable animals and will continue to improve the live release rate of shelter animals via adoptions, returning strays to their owners, transferring animals to rescues and treating medical cases.

The Victim Services Unit provides an array of services to felony crime victims and their families and informs victims of their rights as guaranteed under the Rhode Island Constitution and the Victim's Bill of Rights. Also lead the way in environmental enforcements, promote open and transparent government, Stan up for Rhode Island workers, engage with communities, community violence intervention Advocates are assigned to victims and their families to provide guidance and support through the criminal justice process - informing them of their rights, notifying them of the status of the offender’s case, providing personal assistance at court appearances and helping them better understand and participate in the legal process. In addition, the Unit provides referrals to other victim-service provider agencies and support groups that can further assist victims with financial, legal, medical and emotional problems resulting from the crime. Unit advocates also assist prosecutors with all victim-related matters.

The Wakefield Oasis is an affiliate of the Mental Health Consumer Advocates of Rhode Island, Inc. This non-profit statewide advocacy, education, and socialization center empowers adults who have experienced psychiatric symptoms or who receive mental health services. MHCA of RI, Inc., has been in operation since 1985. The vision of MHCA of RI, Inc., is to provide peer support, to inform and educate people about the stigma of mental illness and to positively affect the lives of our fellow consumes through legislative action and other advocacy campaigns.

A community-based resource that provides coordinated and comprehensive services which educate, nourish, assist, entertain and enrich the lives of individuals 55 years of age and older. The department is comprised of divisions designed to inform, entertain and enrich the lives of those who participate. Adult Day Services - Professionally designed programs to meet the needs of frail individuals with physical and/or cognitive impairments. Professional staff consists of registered nurses, a case manager, physical therapy assistant and certified nursing assistants. Therapeutic programs include music, art, physical, occupational, speech, aroma, pet therapy. Recreational activities include crafts, painting, exercise, gardening, Tai Chi and Yoga for elders. Intergenerational programs with local schools provide enrichment opportunities for both young and old alike. Angels On Horseback Therapeutic Riding School, Inc. provides equine assisted therapy to children and adults with mentally and physically challenging conditions. The offer an 10 or 12 week session lesson program. Angels On Horseback is also the home of Cavalry Heroes. This program provides equine facilitated therapy for Rhode Island military veterans with conditions such as PTSD and other emotional as well as physical, challenges. The goal is to improve the lives of individuals suffering from a variety of conditions.
