DVRCSC has a confidential safe home for women who face homelessness as a result of domestic violence. Youth Transition For young people with disability, life before completing high school is very different than life afterwards. OSCIL provides a variety of services to help students and recent graduates gain the skills and resources needed to make this transition into adulthood. Assisting youth in transitioning from high school to adult life is a core service provided by OSCIL, including next steps such as going to college or finding employment. Known for its spectacular view of Newport Harbor and the East Passage of Narragansett Bay, Fort Wetherill has been a popular sight for viewing the numerous Tall Ship Events and America’s Cup Races. The area is also a major attraction for scuba diving, with Diving Clubs from New York State, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island using the facilities at the boat ramp year round. Additionally, the park offers family and group picnicking, boating, fishing, hiking and exploring on the park’s 61.5 acres of property.

An independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan public policy research and education organization dedicated to the advancement of effective, efficient and equitable government in Rhode Island. Public Finance: RIPEC worked with State leaders to restructure and reduce the personal income tax system, reduce capital gains taxes, enact property tax cap legislation, phase-out the business inventory tax and change the frequency of property revaluation. In addition, RIPEC has played a critical role in reforming state government through landmark pension and health care reform. Education: RIPEC worked with legislative leaders in the adoption of a school funding formula - the first in fifteen years - and developed school accountability initiatives which were translated into landmark education reform legislation (Article 31). RIPEC has also been involved in on-going research on consolidation options on Aquidneck Island and around the State. Human Services: RIPEC partnered with the United Way to develop a comprehensive analysis of the State's social safety net and has been involved in efforts to monitor the State's progress on reforming entitlement programs. Economic Development: RIPEC has worked with business leaders and General Assembly membership to improve Rhode Island's perceived business friendliness, including the passage of historic personal income tax reform legislation.

A Batterers Intervention Program is a psycho-educational group led by trained professional facilitators. Each meeting is an hour and a half to two hours long, and meetings are held every week for a minimum of 20 weeks. Fees are collected, but programs can make accommodations as needed. Ask your parole officer or program staff about available options. Participants are held accountable for their attendance, must be on time, and cannot miss a meeting. Address issues of: victimization and perpetuation of abuse, substance use, mental health, domestic violence, anger management and trauma. Individuals are referred by the court and legal entities
