Pawtucket Animal Shelter is a municipal animal shelter located in Slater Park in the City of Pawtucket, RI. The shelter provides temporary care and housing for stray and/or abandoned animals found in the city.

The Northern Rhode Island Collaborative is a public, non-profit educational institution which was established in 1987. The multi-purpose educational collaborative provides special education programs and services primarily to its member school districts in northern Rhode Island.

They provide the following social services: Emergency Assistance, Food Bank, Rental Assistance Program, Low Income Home Energy Program, Appliance Management Program, Weatherization, Heating System Rep, RI Donation Exchange, Tax Preparation.

OSCIL provides Lunch and Learn Workshops to the Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing and Deaf-Blind. Provides occasional seminars on topics such as Self-Advocacy and other topics of interest are offered in an informal group setting. In addition to the above services, our Deaf Services Coordinator collaborates with other OSCIL staff to provide assistance with other OSCIL services to individuals and other service providers. OSCIL’s Information and Referral program provides consumers and their families, service providers, and the general public with information on a wide array of community resources and disability services. Information can be obtained via phone, e-mail, fax or in person. OSCIL’s Signs of Independence quarterly newsletter provides information on disability issues to consumers and service providers. As a designated agency for “The Point”, OSCIL Information and Referral Coordinators provide up-to-date information on a vast array of agency and community services. The purpose of this is to bring solutions to the problems faced by individuals with disabilities.

The Ballou Home for the Aged is a 43 bed not-for-profit skilled nursing facility located in Woonsocket, RI. We provide Long term care and post acute hospital care to individuals who require skilled nursing and/or rehabilitative services.

Engagement – Develop positive perception of therapist and program; Facilitate family’s willingness to participate in counseling. Motivation – Increase hope and motivation for change; Reduce family negativity and blaming; Address risk factors associated with treatment drop-out. Relational Assessment – Identify relational functions, needs, and hierarchy within the family. Behavioral Change – Build youth’s and family members’ skills related to specific referral issues; Reduce family conflict and address family patterns that maintain the presenting problems. Generalization – Increase family resources and extra-familial support; Maintain and generalize changes; Prevent relapse. Functional Family Therapy provides a lifeline to youth and families strained by the cycle of risky behavior, disengagement, criminal infraction, or a breakdown in family relationships.

Provides training for students in 12 technical career areas: academic instruction, shop and theory classes. Programs for special needs, ELL and 504 students are embedded within the school day. There are no after school courses for students but there are several afternoon school enrichment and sports programs offered.

Activities focus in four areas: schools, neighborhood organizations, business and industry and municipal operations. Landmark also offers specialized cardiac rehabilitation services through the Heart Center in Woonsocket.
