Sail To Prevail is a nonprofit that improves the lives of more than 1,000 children and adults, each summer, through sailing in our fleet of specially adapted, 20-foot sailboats. Our programs encourage individuals with disabilities to be active participants in the sailing experience. They steer the boat, grind the winches, and trim the sails. The measurable outcomes demonstrate increased self-confidence and leadership skills. Mental health services in a fully integrated model alongside medical services. Thundermist’s behavioral health team includes licensed social workers, mental health counselors, and psychiatric clinical nurse specialists. They provide individual and group counseling, integrated behavioral health interventions, case management, and referrals. Thundermist behavioral health services program provides open access and immediate crisis-oriented interventions to patients, as well as follow up.

Recovery housing (sober living) for seven females located in Cranston. Residents are only responsible for their own clothing, medication, toiletries and dietary needs. Residents are subject to frequent, random drug testing.

Short Term Care & Rehabilitation Services: A qualified team of certified speech, physical and occupational therapists work with each individual to set and reach goals for recovery. Rehabilitation services are provided, per physician’s order, to those admitted for a short-term stay while recovering from an illness, injury or surgery. Short-term rehabilitation in a skilled healthcare facility is often needed for situations such as stroke or cardiac recovery, joint replacement surgery or interim care after a hospital stay. Professional team of clinical staff and therapists help patients reduce pain, restore functional level and prevent future injury. Our therapy department offers services such as range of motion, the omni cycle, stairs and free weights, for patients to learn their limits and increase safety at home. Our new therapeutic garden will provide a serene and beautiful setting for recovery. Our trusted team, with extensive training and expertise, delivers individualized care and important key resources to our patients seven days a week.

The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program provides monthly payments to adults and children with a disability or blindness who have income and resources below specific financial limits. SSI payments are also made to people age 65 and older without disabilities who meet the financial qualifications. You may be eligible to receive SSI monthly payments even if you are already receiving Social Security Disability Insurance or retirement benefits.

Adoption Options is the nonprofit, nonsectarian adoption program of Jewish Family Service with offices in Providence, Rhode Island and Rehoboth, Massachusetts. Adoption Options provides a full range of services to support families throughout the adoption process: Comprehensive services for women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. Information, resources and supportive counseling before, during and after adoption. Home studies to prepare for domestic or international adoption. Domestic placement of infants. Coordination of services with other placement agencies, facilitators and adoption attorneys.

The Norman Bird Sanctuary constitutes the largest area of preserved open space in Newport County. A wildlife refuge, NBS encompasses over 300 acres and seven miles of trails that wind through diverse habitats. Nearly 30 acres are maintained as hay fields. Woodlands are the most prominent plant community, and four ridges provide spectacular views of the surrounding ocean and ponds. Located next to the Visitor's Center and gift shop, the Sanctuary's 19th Century Barn Museum features natural history displays and a children's area with interpretive murals and hands-on exhibits.

Hopkins Manor, Ltd. is a 200-bed skilled nursing facility providing traditional nursing home care as well as sub-acute rehabilitation, hospice, respite and alzheimer’s care. They can accommodate both long and short term placement and resident admissions are facilitated seven days a week. Treatment programs integrate nursing, dietary, activities and other disciplines to promote recovery of functional skills. The goal is to achieve the highest practicable physical, mental and psychological well being while treating each resident with the utmost dignity and respect. Services and treatment are offered without discrimination as to sex, race, color, religion, national origin or source of payment.
