The Harrisville Fire Department is a combination fire department made up primarily by volunteer members augmented by a small career staff. They operate out of one station, utilizing two BLS engine companies, one ladder company, two ALS transporting rescues, and multiple brush and support vehicles.

Services: An assisted living, 10 bed residence for HIV+ people, a part of AIDS Care Ocean State's Supportive Housing Program. Sunrise offers a comprehensive program that includes medical support, case management and social support in a drug and alcohol free environment.

Outreach events will be conducted throughout the state to promote the different services that they offer. These events will also allow the community members to learn and connect with all the different resources available to them. At the same time, this will allow the program provider to connect with partner agencies through the state in order to keep data and resources up to date.

October through May the Rhode Island Philharmonic performs an eight concert Classical series, four concert Rush Hour series, three concert Pops series and two concert Family series. During summer there are free pop concerts at venues throughout the state.

A group of residents affected by foreclosure who work together to put an end to foreclosure and foreclosure-related evictions. The program provides direct outreach and case management to residents of foreclosed properties through door knocking, provide support and legal advice to individuals, propose legislation to protect residents and sanction foreclosing banks and lenders, and utilize direct action to keep people in their homes.

West Kingston Elementary School is a public elementary school serving grade levels k-5 in the South Kingstown School District. This school is eligible for participation in state and federal Title I programs. Some or all students in this school participate in free or reduced lunch programs.

CharterCARE visiting nurse service is unique in that the clinical staff practices primary nursing. They will systematically assess, plan, deliver, and continually evaluate an individualized plan of care for each patient. Skilled Care: Clinical staff provides skilled training in the use, care and management of various medical devices including; G-tubes, J-tubes and foley catheters. We provide training in and assistance with injection therapy, oxygen therapy, ostomy care, tracheostomy care, the administration of insulin for diabetics, medication management, disease management and wound care. Advance Wound Care Every one of our nurses has been trained and is proficient in performing negative pressure wound therapy, a state of the art technology proven to significantly reduce healing time for chronic wounds. (ie: Wound Vac, Renosys and Engenex). Telemonitoring Our telemonitoring program is an adjunct to nursing visits and physician care. Upon the physician order, equipment is installed in the home for the patient. The equipment allows the patient to take daily measurements of weight, blood pressure, pulse and oxygen saturation. Results are monitored daily by an RN. Nutritional Services CharterCARE Home Health utilizes registered dieticians (RDs), food and nutrition experts who have met American Dietetic Association (ADA) criteria to earn the RD credential. RDs are available to assess a patient's nutritional needs, develop and implement nutrition programs, and evaluate and report the results.

The Cumberland Senior Center is committed to providing an array of quality services to our senior citizens. We encourage and assist individuals in achieving a lifestyle so they can continue to be active and productive members of the community. Membership fees: for $8 per year, you can join the Cumberland Senior Center and enjoy companionship, trips around the state, a game of billiards, and BINGO Fridays. For non-residents, the annual membership fee is $12. Programs on a variety of educational, informational, and recreational topics for senior citizens are offered throughout the year. The senior van is available for many uses, including center pickup and drop offs and local shopping and appointments. Advanced reservations are required and are made by calling 401-334-2555 ext 104. The Picillo Center is a community center where older individuals can participate in community-based outings, physical fitness exercises, art therapy and horticulture activities throughout the day. The gardening project, initially started in 2009, has transformed into a genuine Horticulture program and business. Since its inception, this small garden has grown into a larger fenced garden, incorporating raised flowerbeds allowing for ease with plant care. With interest and ability improving, employees of the program successfully sponsored a number of fundraising events for the purpose of purchasing a greenhouse. With this in place, gardeners are able to begin their harvest earlier by starting with the seedlings. While both of these projects are enjoyable and healing, they also serve as an employment opportunity with produce and flowers being sold to individuals, local vendors and at farm fresh fairs.
