The NIT Office of Social Service Programs (OSSP) provides eligible Tribal Members who reside within our established service area, with access to social service programs including: General Assistance, Child Welfare Services, payment assistance with Burial expenses, payment assistance with Housing (rental, relocation, mortgage), Food and Clothing vouchers, Weatherization/Cooling/Heat, and payment assistance with Utilities, Emergency Hardship, and Family/Community Services.

South Kingstown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center offers licensed rehabilitation and subacute unit and secure Alzheimer’s care as well as long-term care for those in need of assistance with chronic illness or multiple activities of daily living. For youth who have been adjudicated as delinquent and those awaiting trial for serious offenses, residential programming is conducted at the RI Training School which provides a secure, structured program or comprehensive services including clinical and educational services. All youth detained receive educational services in accordance with their academic level and/or specific individual education plan.
