The Rhode Island Veterans Home is a 110-acre complex on Mount Hope Bay in Bristol. The home provides quality nursing and residential care to Rhode Island war veterans. Some of the services provided include social, medical, nursing and rehabilitative services. Services Approximately 208 beds. Assisted living and nursing care, including secure units (Alzheimer's care) and palliative care. X-ray, dental, and pharmacy services, physical therapy and occupational therapy, psych services, transportation to PVAMC. Rehabilitation Services includes physical and occupational therapy. Social Services includes individual and group therapy and specialized support groups. Transitional Services include short-term stays in dorms or a more intensive Transitional Supportive Program for homeless veterans. Activities and Services for Residents include movies, crafts, card games, bingo, birthday parties, cookouts and day trips. Religious Services are also available. In addition to the Veterans Home buildings, the facilities include a library, gift shop, cafe, bank, barbershop, and beautician. The Veterans Home has an active Family Council that is open to family members. They meet monthly to discuss common issues and concerns affecting the residents of the home.

Services: An independent co-educational university of the arts and sciences. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1947, Salve Regina serves 2,200 men and women from 25 states and 12 foreign countries. The University offers a broad-based undergraduate curriculum with over 40 areas of concentration and 28 specific majors. The graduate curriculum presently offers 16 masters program concentrations, including Administration of Justice, Health Services Administration, Holistic Counseling, Information Systems Science, International Relations and Management.

The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program provides monthly payments to adults and children with a disability or blindness and who have income and resources below specified amounts. SSI payments can also be made to people 65 and older without disabilities who meet the financial limits. People who have worked long enough may also qualify to receive Social Security disability or retirement benefits as well as SSI. RI Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a federal program that provides monthly payments to people with limited income and resources. SSI is for people who are 65 or older, as well as people of any age, including children, who are blind or who have disabilities. APPLY- To get SSI, you must apply for any other government benefits for which you may be eligible. You must live in the United States or the Northern Mariana Islands to get SSI. *If you're not a US citizen, but you legally live in the US, you still may be able to get SSI. For more information, read Supplemental Security Income (SSI) for Noncitizens. The Payment you get each month includes both the federal SSI payment and the supplement from Rhode Island.
