Provides access to support and resources for individuals to lead self-determined, independent, and fulfilling lives as contributing members of the community. Assists people of all ages to improve their behavioral health, well-being, and quality of life. Licensed professionals conduct individual assessments and develop person-centered treatment plans. Individuals are seen by a psychiatrist or a psychiatric nurse practitioner for medication management, and individual and group therapy are available. Providence Center-(Prairie) Provides: behavioral health services ranging from emergency services, general and intensive community-based outpatient treatment, substance use treatment, and other services. They may offer vocational and supported employment services, navigators who can help you get health insurance, tax preparation assistance, and housing supports. If receiving services as a child, assistance with transition to adult services or programs are provided within or outside the agency. The Community Mental Health Centers are regionally based as indicated below. However, as a Rhode Island resident, you may access services at any CMHC. Anyone experiencing a crisis can walk into a Community Mental Health Center during their normal business hours and they will provide treatment. The RI Adult Education Professional Development Center (PDCenter), has been delivering high-quality, research-based professional development and technical assistance to Rhode Island's adult education programs and practitioners since 2007. Through its leadership and partnerships, the PDCenter seeks to support, enhance and promote the network of quality educational opportunities for RI's adult learners.

Vocational counseling will help you to better understand your potential, to rely on your abilities, to set realistic vocational goals, to change them when necessary, to develop successful work habits, and to begin a satisfying career. After applying for vocational rehabilitation services and being determined eligible, the eligible individual with a disability and a Qualified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor will work together to develop an employment plan called the Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE). The Employment Plan considers the individual's unique strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, skills, abilities, preferences, capabilities, interests, and values, as well as the barriers to employment. The Employment Plan identifies the employment goal that the individual has chosen, the time it is expected to reach the goal, the services that the individual chooses as necessary to reach the employment goal, and how the services will be provided. Some of the services may be provided directly by the VR Counselor, others may be available through other public sources such as netWORKri (One Stop Career Centers), and others may be purchased with funds provided by the VR agency. The individual may develop the Employment Plan with the assistance of the VR Counselor, another individual, or by him or herself. The VR Counselor is always available to provide assistance in this process. A Qualified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor who works for the public VR program must approve the Employment Plan before any services are provided through the VR agency. The partnership between each individual with a disability and their Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor is a key component in the Vocational Rehabilitation process.

Best Buddies Leadership Development programs educate and empower people with and without IDD to become leaders, public speakers and advocates. Best Buddies passionately believes that its program participants can lead the effort within their community and beyond to build a more inclusive world for people with IDD. Leadership Ambassadors offers people with and without IDD the opportunity to gain the public speaking skills, self-esteem and confidence needed to successfully advocate for themselves, their peers and Best Buddies in communities, workplaces and government. Leadership Promoters empowers youth to become advocates for people with IDD and help open new Best Buddies chapters and programs by organizing special events that promote awareness to the disability rights movement.

Services: Free Family Support Groups led by trained facilitators on an as needed basis for patients, caregivers and loved ones. Guest speakers on special topics relating to cancer and wellness. Patient Aid: Provides financial assistance for medication relating to cancer treatment and transportation costs to and from treatment. First Connection: Matches recently diagnosed patients with trained volunteers who have experienced a similar situation. Volunteer survivors, or their family members, offer support and information to individuals learning to cope with any blood related cancers. Programs that pick up and impound or return to their owners domestic animals who have strayed from their homes. Also included are programs that enforce leash laws and animal sanitation ordinances and those that handle complaints regarding domestic animals who have bitten someone or are otherwise making nuisances of themselves. Most animal control programs are unable to handle nuisance wildlife unless the animal is sick or shows symptoms of rabies.

CharterCARE visiting nurse service is unique in that the clinical staff practices primary nursing. They will systematically assess, plan, deliver, and continually evaluate an individualized plan of care for each patient. Skilled Care: Clinical staff provides skilled training in the use, care and management of various medical devices including; G-tubes, J-tubes and foley catheters. We provide training in and assistance with injection therapy, oxygen therapy, ostomy care, tracheostomy care, the administration of insulin for diabetics, medication management, disease management and wound care. Advance Wound Care Every one of our nurses has been trained and is proficient in performing negative pressure wound therapy, a state of the art technology proven to significantly reduce healing time for chronic wounds. (ie: Wound Vac, Renosys and Engenex). Telemonitoring Our telemonitoring program is an adjunct to nursing visits and physician care. Upon the physician order, equipment is installed in the home for the patient. The equipment allows the patient to take daily measurements of weight, blood pressure, pulse and oxygen saturation. Results are monitored daily by an RN. Nutritional Services CharterCARE Home Health utilizes registered dieticians (RDs), food and nutrition experts who have met American Dietetic Association (ADA) criteria to earn the RD credential. RDs are available to assess a patient's nutritional needs, develop and implement nutrition programs, and evaluate and report the results.

The Wakefield Oasis is an affiliate of the Mental Health Consumer Advocates of Rhode Island, Inc. This non-profit statewide advocacy, education, and socialization center empowers adults who have experienced psychiatric symptoms or who receive mental health services. MHCA of RI, Inc., has been in operation since 1985. The vision of MHCA of RI, Inc., is to provide peer support, to inform and educate people about the stigma of mental illness and to positively affect the lives of our fellow consumes through legislative action and other advocacy campaigns.

Programs within the formal criminal justice system that provide facilities for the detention of people who have been charged with a crime and are awaiting trial, and/or the confinement, treatment, employment, training and discipline of people who have been sentenced to imprisonment after conviction for a criminal offense.

Burrillville Emergency Management implements policies related to hazard mitigation and emergency management programs and activities. The EMA also has general supervision of all civil preparedness duties.
