RiverzEdge Arts Project is a youth development program giving educationally and economically disenfranchised youth (ages 12-24) in northern Rhode Island paid employment in the arts and a voice in the community. Based in Woonsocket, one of RI's poorest cities, RiverzEdge engages teens in a lifestyle of creative expression, disciplined effort, and economic self-reliance.

Thanksgiving Food Baskets 2018

Assists low-income residents through individual advocacy, research and community organization approaches to meeting basic human needs. Provides emergency fuel and energy assistance during winter months (November - April). Rental and prescription assistance when funds are available. **Qualifications:** Rent: Must have a five-day eviction notice or be attempting to move out of a shelter. Utility: (gas & electric) Must have a termination notice or be attempting to restore services. Heating: Must have made use of /be ineligible for all state, federal, and other private heating assistance funds. Funds are made available through the Bishop�s "Keep the Heat On" Fund. Westbay’s Supportive Housing Program operates 6 subsidized rental units in Warwick and West Warwick. A case manager links tenants to services at Westbay and at other agencies. The case manager meets with them regularly to help with basic skills and support. The goal of the program is to help tenants achieve independence.

Behavioral health treatment center that offers:

• Inpatient and outpatient drug and alcohol detoxification services for persons 18+
• Individual counseling and case management
• Group counseling
• Substance abuse-related education and aftercare assessment
• Planning and referral

Programs: Inpatient Detoxification - This program provides medically managed detoxification from a range of addictive substances. The usual length of stay is from three to seven days. While the focus is on managing withdrawal symptoms, the clinical program introduces the disease concept of addiction and principles of recovery through individual and group counseling, substance abuse-related education and expressive therapies. Case management services are also provided for aftercare placement. Staff includes, round-the-clock nursing, addiction counselors, consulting physician/nurse practitioner/psychiatrist, and Recovery Specialists. Crisis Stabilization Unit - This program provides dual diagnosis services for individuals with co-occurring substance abuse and psychiatric symptoms. This can be an effective alternative to an inpatient psychiatric level of care for those individuals whose symptoms are/can be stabilized with psychiatric medications while addressing both their addiction and psychiatric conditions through individual counseling, intensive psycho-education group work and expressive therapies. Average length of stay is six days. An initial psychiatric evaluation will determine best medication regime to stabilize symptoms while individual treatment planning with a counselor addresses issues related to substance use and other psychiatric disorders. Acute Residential Program/Rehab - Provides a full range of clinical services to stabilize the client and engage them in ongoing recovery and aftercare. The length of stay averages ten days. Licensed counselors provide psycho-education groups, individual counseling and expressive therapies. Case management/care coordination links the client and family to professional and community aftercare resources.

Grand Islander Center is located on Aquidneck Island. They provide Alzheimer's/dementia care in a secure Homestead Unit; LongTerm, Palliative, Restorative and Pain Management Care; and intensive nursing and rehabilitative care for patients recovering from surgery or illness in their Transitional Care Unit. Grand Islander Center is the recipient of the American Health Care Association's Bronze, Silver and Gold Quality Awards.

Family Support Center provides basic needs assistance to low income households and connects families to financial literacy and other programs to strengthen their financial condition. The Family Support Center serves low and moderate income Woonsocket residents depending on eligibility requirements for fund-specific programs.

Member of the Assistive Technology Access Partnership: Device demonstration, device loan, device re-use; training, public awareness, collaboration, information and referral. Provides demonstrations, training, and long-term loan and device reutilization services of specialized telephone equipment to qualified individuals who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, have a speech disability, or have neuromuscular damage or disease, which hinders them from using a standard telephone. Assistive Technology Many people with disabilities face barriers that prevent them from living independently in their homes, and in many cases, they are also unaware of the many devices that can improve their daily lives. OSCIL works with individuals to acquire appropriate devices and provide training on the use of those devices to enhance the individual’s independence within their home and community. Assistive Technology Access Partnership (ATAP) OSCIL is one of 4 partners participating in the Assistive Technology Access Partnership (ATAP) program. ATAP is designed as a statewide partnership of organizations, each with a targeted assistive technology focus, working together to improve access to and acquisition of assistive technology for individuals with disabilities. Some programs may have income limits. An OSCIL Independent Living Coordinator will be happy to guide you and recommend the best program for your unique needs. OSCIL CAN PROVIDE YOU WITH THE SMART HOME TECHNOLOGY TO MODIFY YOUR HOME TO HELP YOU REACH YOUR GOALS AND INDEPENDENTLY CONTROL YOUR ENVIRONMENT. This includes devices such as: -Smart locks -Video doorbells -Alerting systems -Smart hubs and 2 months of connectivity needed to control the devices. The Program is administered through health centers and selected hospitals. Through the Farmers Market Program WIC families are able to purchase locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables at farmers' markets across the State.

Generalization-Increase family resources and extra-familial support; maintain and generalize changes; Prevent relapse. Functional Family Therapy provides a lifeline to youth and families strained by the cycle of risky behavior, disengagement, criminal infraction, or a breakdown in family relationships.
