Self-help support group for anyone who has experienced the loss of a child. Offers friendship and understanding to bereaved parents, aids parents in the positive resolution of grief and fosters the physical and emotional health of bereaved parents and siblings. Behavioral Health Link is a comprehensive program to service individuals who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis (mental health and/or substance abuse use) by establishing a community based, 24/7 hotline and triage center. BH has 5 treatment bays and can assist 8-10 individuals at one time. BH Link provides immediate treatment and help for people and connect them to appropriate care, 24/7 with access to the following services: Crisis Management and Stabilization Clinical Assessment System Navigation Emergency Medication Prescribing Psychiatric Consultation Services Peer Support Mobile Crisis Unit Continued Engagement and Connection to Follow-Up Services Connections to Treatment and Recovery Support Connections to Recovery Housing Care Management Skilled Nursing

The primary mission of the police department is crime prevention and the protection of life and property. The laws and police procedures related to them are promulgated by police agencies for the purpose of maintaining order and continuity. The basis for police actions is the law, and the credibility of the law enforcement profession will be measure by its contribution to the welfare of the whole community, its concern for excellence, and by the guidance it provides to its members toward a high level of ethical practice. Police officers have a sworn obligation to respect and defend the rights guaranteed to the people in the Constitution. In the performance of those duties they may command or prohibit behavior which tends to conflict with the expectations of free people in a free society. Particular attention must be given to ensure the just and impartial application of law. Positive police interaction, while serving the departments peace keeping mission, must be administered without prejudice; always mindful that in the execution of their duties they act in the best interest of the public. The goal of police service is to improve the quality of service and at the same time improve the quality of life in the community. Standards of the profession must be elevated to strengthen the public confidence in law enforcement, to encourage officers individually and collectively to appreciate the total responsibilities of their office; and to earn the support and cooperation of the general public.

The Ocean Tides School Providence Campus is an alternative day school for students in grades seven through twelve. Offering a full high school Rhode Island Regents diploma, the school is licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) and accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Additionally, the Providence Campus offers a certified special education program and a career/technical education program. The student body at the Providence Campus is comprised of students referred by their school district for educational purposes (both regular and special education) and career/technical training. Each candidate is screened by the Director of Special Education and the Principal before admittance to ensure the student is ready and willing to enter the program. Given the severe educational difficulties these students have experienced in the past, Ocean Tides seeks to provide creative, individualized programs that meet the needs of all students. Gaits of Harmony serves clients ranging in age from three into their senior years who have disabilities such as autism, traumatic brain injury, anxiety, Down syndrome, seizure disorders, ADD, ADHD, and cerebral palsy. Domestic Violence is one of the leading causes of homelessness for women. As an affiliate member of the Rhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence, we provide integrated services to address the unique needs of domestic violence survivors, as we work with them to break the cycle of violence and find secure, stable housing. Through the Domestic Violence Program we offer comprehensive trauma-informed services for domestic violence survivors, including a 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, rapid re-housing, advocacy, support groups, and children's enrichment programs. The Domestic Violence Program is primarily an emergency shelter program with a focus on safety and housing. The shelter provides safety for 26 domestic violence survivors and their children in a confidential location separate from other Crossroads properties. Clients have access to Crossroads Rhode Island’s range of services, including basic needs assistance, education, employment services and intensive case management, while they work to find a secure and stable home.

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program is the only USDA Nutrition program that provides a monthly package of healthy, nutritious food specifically for low income seniors. Food package includes: cereal, fruit juice, protein items, shelf stable milk, peanut butter, pasta, cheese, and canned fruits and vegetables

Provides new and gently used furniture to low-income families and needy individuals statewide. Curbside delivery may be available for a small fee.

Dress for Success

Provides individual and group counseling for victims of sexual assault and their families. Offers 24-hour hotline, information, advocacy, support, legal assistance and crisis counseling. trained counselors/advocates available to meet victims at hospital, police station and court. Assault Prevention Program offers personal safety programs to students in preschool through college. Day One serves victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and other violent crimes. Services include the 24-hour Victims of Crime Helpline; crisis intervention, individual and group counseling for children and adults, advocacy (including legal advocacy) for victims and their families. Also, the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), the RI Children's Advocacy Center, prevention education and a new Family Foster Care Treatment Program for sexually abused children in foster care and their foster families.

Dexter Manor I, is a 10-story elderly/disabled high-rise building located on the edge of the city’s Downtown neighborhood. In 1984 a new wing was added to the building containing an additional 91 units of elderly/disabled housing and the PHA’s Administrative Offices. Although the newer wing is technically a separate development named Dexter Manor II, the two are usually referred to collectively as Dexter Manor.

The American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc. to ease the burden and find the cure for Parkinson's disease. The organization focuses its energies on research, patient services, education and raising public awareness about the disease. APDA has contributed more than $28 million to patient and caregiver support through its networks of 62 Information & Referral Centers and 800 support groups across the country. ADPA sponsors community activities, and support groups, and exercise groups for people suffering from Parkinson's and their friends and families throughout the state.
