A comprehensive, State licensed adult day care program to provide medical, social and rehabilitative services to chronically impaired elders and disabled adults. Services include: nursing supervision, personal care, counseling, caregivers support/respite, exercises, activities, specialized therapies and nutrition. The Adult Day Services Program provides an array of supportive services designed to upgrade and increase the activities of daily living for older persons dependent upon continual family support and supervision. The major goal of the program is to reduce the potential for institutionalization of dependent elderly individuals otherwise at risk, and to increase their quality of life through the enhancement of their activities of daily living. The program provides supervised supportive care for frail elderly persons to meet the needs of the functionally impaired individual. The water quality of many of the lakes and ponds in the upper part of the watershed is also monitored under the URI Watershed Watch program by volunteers not associated with Watershed Council. The sites monitored by Watershed Council volunteers are: Greystone Mill Pond, Johnston/North Providence; Rising Sun Dam, near Donigian Park, Providence; Waterplace Park, Providence.
