The American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc. to ease the burden and find the cure for Parkinson's disease. Youth Transition For young people with disability, life before completing high school is very different than life afterwards. OSCIL provides a variety of services to help students and recent graduates gain the skills and resources needed to make this transition into adulthood. Assisting youth in transitioning from high school to adult life is a core service provided by OSCIL, including next steps such as going to college or finding employment. Early Intervention works in partnership with families to promote the growth and development of infants and toddlers. Our services help children from birth to three years of age who have or may have a disability, are experiencing developmental delay, or are at risk for significant developmental problems. Early Intervention consists of a multidisciplinary team, which works in partnership with families. The team works diligently to provide services that are respectful of a family’s values, incorporating strategies into a child’s natural environments – meaning everyday life routines and places. All services are family-centered and individualized to ensure the most successful outcomes for a child and their family.

Placement Assistance- Counseling, job seeking programs, job clubs, and job development used to increase your ability to get a job. You will receive ideas, practice, and advise on finding job leads, filling out applications, getting interviews for a job, and on how to interview. The Ronald McDonald House of Providence is a temporary home for families with hospitalized children that is located next to Women & Infants’, Hasbro Children’s and Rhode Island Hospitals. In addition to its proximity to medical facilities, the House offers something even more important; the support that comes from being able to talk and share concerns with other parents going through similarly difficult situations. Built on land donated by Rhode Island Hospital, the Providence House has 28 bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, dining area, a family room with play area, fitness room and laundry facilities. An enclosed courtyard offers secure access to the outdoors. A federally licensed non-profit organization dedicated to serving the Rhode Island community with blood and blood components. The Center has an active tissue typing laboratory which supports bone marrow transplantation and parentage testing. The Rhode Island Blood Center is a donor center for the National Marrow Donor Program and has an active Pheresis Program.

The primary mission of the police department is crime prevention and the protection of life and property. The laws and police procedures related to them are promulgated by police agencies for the purpose of maintaining order and continuity. The basis for police actions is the law, and the credibility of the law enforcement profession will be measure by its contribution to the welfare of the whole community, its concern for excellence, and by the guidance it provides to its members toward a high level of ethical practice. Police officers have a sworn obligation to respect and defend the rights guaranteed to the people in the Constitution. In the performance of those duties they may command or prohibit behavior which tends to conflict with the expectations of free people in a free society. Particular attention must be given to ensure the just and impartial application of law. Positive police interaction, while serving the departments peace keeping mission, must be administered without prejudice; always mindful that in the execution of their duties they act in the best interest of the public. The goal of police service is to improve the quality of service and at the same time improve the quality of life in the community. Standards of the profession must be elevated to strengthen the public confidence in law enforcement, to encourage officers individually and collectively to appreciate the total responsibilities of their office; and to earn the support and cooperation of the general public.
