Everyone experiences tough times. Having help when you need it is the key to facing these challenges. Community Care Alliance strives to empower people experiencing economic insecurity, mental illness and addiction, housing issues, and trauma-related concerns. They provide clinical and support services for individuals and families with long-term needs associated with mental illness and substance abuse. Their goal is to help people live as independently and as fully integrated within the community as possible These might include basic needs assistance to address emergencies— counseling, treatment, support services and residential programs for individuals and families impacted by serious mental illness and addiction— emergency and supportive housing to prevent homelessness and promote stabilization— alternative education and services for families with young children and adolescents— and employment, financial literacy and vocational training to improve self-sufficiency.

EBCAP’s Food Pantries offer monthly food distribution to assist food insecure households. Individuals/families in need of food assistance may come to one of EBCAP’s three food pantries twice a month. When you arrive, our staff will help you select food that you/your family will enjoy. The amount of food you receive is based on your family size. It is helpful (but not required) to bring with you re-useable bags. The program provides: -Nutritious supplemental food at no cost to participants -Assistance to people with special dietary needs -Family advocates who assess additional needs of individuals/families and connect participants to other EBCAP community resources

Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) serves people who have disabilities or chronic care needs in the setting ideal for them and their families. Services may be episodic or on-going. Services may be provided in a person's home, the community (for example, shared living or assisted living), or institutional settings (for example, intermediate care facilities, hospitals, or nursing homes) to optimize their health and retain their independence. People of all ages may need long term care. If you, a loved one, or a friend is an adult with a disability or an elder, you will find information about the DHS's publicly funded long term services and supports here.

Shared Living supports adults with disabilities and seniors living in the community who are unable to live alone independently. Participants may live either with caregivers who are family members or non-relatives. Person-centered support is provided by a team of professionals, coordinated through Case Managers and Registered Nurses during regular home visits, specialized trainings, and 24-hour support.

Offers books, periodicals, pamphlets, records, audio cassettes, books-on-tape, compact discs, video cassettes, large type books and computer software for loan. Programming for adults and children. Internet access for the public. Family literacy instruction. Oak Lawn Branch invites the public to delve into local history, offers extensive youth programming and provides the neighborhood with a family-friendly atmosphere.

Programs that intercede on behalf of individuals and/or groups to ensure that they receive the benefits and services for which they are eligible and that organizations within the established service delivery system meet the collective needs of the community; that attempt to marshal public support for a particular issue or cause; or that seek to influence legislation, local ordinances or administrative rulings in order to benefit specific interest groups or achieve specific social, political or environmental goals.

Behavioral Health Link is a comprehensive program to service individuals who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis (mental health and/or substance abuse use) by establishing a community based, 24/7 hotline and triage center. BH has 5 treatment bays and can assist 8-10 individuals at one time. BH Link provides immediate treatment and help for people and connect them to appropriate care, 24/7 with access to the following services: Crisis Management and Stabilization Clinical Assessment System Navigation Emergency Medication Prescribing Psychiatric Consultation Services Peer Support Mobile Crisis Unit Continued Engagement and Connection to Follow-Up Services Connections to Treatment and Recovery Support Connections to Recovery Housing Care Management Skilled Nursing

Outpatient addiction treatment involves one-on-one counseling sessions to help patients overcome alcohol or drug dependence. Clinicians use the most effective therapy methods to identify and resolve issues that have led to substance use.

The Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County works toward a future free from violence. They work collaboratively to offer safety, support, advocacy, education and a network of services to residents of Washington County. DVRCSC has a confidential safe home for women who face homelessness as a result of domestic violence. Additional services include a Drop-In Advocacy Center, Support Groups and One-on-One Counseling by appointment. They offer education and outreach on the subject of healthy relationships, dating violence, cyber stalking and techno-abuse. DVRCSC can provide Court Advocates at McGrath Judicial Complex in Wakefield.

Diapers can be delivered to home at no charge through a program that employs disabled adults. Can receive up to 300 diapers a month for free.

Provides financial assistance in acquiring necessary equipment to help patients who have needs not covered under existing medical insurance. Assists persons who suffer the after-effects of polio or may suffer from polio. Promotes the use of polio vaccine or other means of preventing polio. Provides orthopedic appliances, wheelchairs, special shoes, transportation for medical treatment/hospital and physical therapy as required and prescribed by physicians. Supplies equipment for Physical Therapy Departments of hospitals.
