In July of 2017, the Family Caregiver Alliance of Rhode Island became incorporated and obtained 501(c)(3) status as a subsidiary under the United Way of Rhode Island (UWRI), the State’s lead partner and operator of the Point. FCARI maintains its independence from UWRI, but utilizes the benefits of non-profit status through UWRI. With our partners, FCARI has become an advocate for caregiving across the lifespan throughout Rhode Island. Although we have accomplished so much, a large percent of our family caregivers still do not receive the assistance they might need and qualify for within our current framework. FCARI and our community partners see this as an area we can work upon, to improve connection and access to services and resources. The Family Caregiver Alliance of Rhode Island, in partnership with the Office of Healthy Aging, hopes to bridge this gap with our groundbreaking 2020 RI State Plan for Family Caregivers. Our State Plan aims to expand and implement various programs and partnerships to strengthen FCARI leadership, and ensure that we can secure future funding for programs that will help our caregivers. Through 2023, FCARI and our partners will continue to ensure our work is responsive to Rhode Islander’s by being supportive and present in the community, educating ourselves regarding issues caregivers are grappling with, and most importantly, ensuring equitable access to resources and advocacy for all of our caregivers.

Welcome to Warwick Public Schools! Our district consists of the Warwick Early Childhood Center at John Brown Francis, thirteen Elementary Schools, two Middle Schools, two High Schools, and the Warwick Area Career and Technical Center. Primary Health Care- Your designated health care provider will coordinate all your other health care needs within the VA New England Healthcare System. Mental Health Services- Social workers and mental health providers provide psychosocial evaluations, individual, group and family counseling, substance abuse and counseling. Assistance can be provided to access local community resources. Pharmacy - All prescriptions for medications are transmitted by computer to the Providence VA Medical Center daily and then mailed directly to your home. Refills are obtained either by sending a signed refill slip to the Providence VA Medical Center or using our convenient phone system. The Clinic has also contracted with a local pharmacy to provide for emergency prescriptions.

The Bay Center was designed and built serve the community as a living classroom and center for marine science educational programs, administrative offices and community meeting space. Angels On Horseback Therapeutic Riding School, Inc. provides equine assisted therapy to children and adults with mentally and physically challenging conditions. The offer an 10 or 12 week session lesson program. Angels On Horseback is also the home of Cavalry Heroes. This program provides equine facilitated therapy for Rhode Island military veterans with conditions such as PTSD and other emotional as well as physical, challenges. The goal is to improve the lives of individuals suffering from a variety of conditions. Coventry Animal Shelter is run by Coventry Police Department's Animal Control. Animal Control rescues strays and abandoned animals, and attempts to return them to their owners or find them homes.

Services: Peer support in a non-structured environment where mental health consumers can stop by to relax, socialize and help develop whatever services and programs they want. Activities run as members feel appropriate. Mental health referral services available. The Oasis Advocacy & Social Center is consumer-run. MHCA/Oasis has been in RI since 1985 (formerly known as CCSA).

Caregiver Support Group Recent participants from Alzheimer's clinical trials and anyone looking for information on caring for your loved ones who suffer from Alzheimer's, Memory Loss or other forms of dementia are encouraged to attend. Structured activities and refreshments will be planned for your loved ones so you can attend the information session.
