The HomeLink Initiative is designed to work with community health centers, public school districts and early intervention workers to help identify households that are having a housing crisis and then offer quick assistance to ensure that they remain stably housed. HomeLink offers comprehensive homelessness prevention and housing assistance through intensified case management, housing search, and landlord tenant mediation services to at-risk families and individuals. By embedding these prevention services in the health care centers, public schools and early intervention home visiting programs used by low-income households on a daily basis, the HomeLink Initiative has created a seamless entry point to link at-risk households with existing service systems and mainstream resources that can help them stabilize their housing situations, avoiding homelessness.

he James L. Maher Center believes that all adults with developmental disabilities should be recognized as valuable, contributing community members and have the opportunity to live, work and play in integrated community settings. We communicate that adults with developmental disabilities are a resource for our community and our focus is on the substance of their contributions.
Furthermore, we recognize that the alternative to the programs here at The James L. Maher Center for individuals with developmental disabilities is often one of isolation, stagnation and devaluation. Offering individuals the opportunity to build community, experience personal growth and obtain significance is the life-transforming work to which The James L. Maher Center aspires. Our community is changed when all individuals are welcomed. Working to show our community that we are more alike than we are different from individuals with developmental disabilities enriches our community. Our community is transformed when all of us can participate and contribute.
A collaborative group of local comprehensive and specialized information and referral providers who have agreed to coordinate information and referral service delivery to provide seamless access to information about community resources via the three digit number assigned for this purpose, 211. Depending on the size and nature of the community, 211 systems may consist of only a few organizations that provide information and referral or may include a diverse array of organizations that furnish some type of I&R. Some of these organizations may supply a very specialized type of I&R service (e.g., for people with disabilities or older adults), while others may provide a comprehensive range of assistance. The coordination of all I&R services and programs within a community and, where relevant, beyond, constitutes the 211 system.
