The Adult Education Academy offers a wide range of services to prepare students for their GED / High School Equivalency, leading to employment and post-secondary education / training. Our program promotes a positive learning environment and offers day and evening classes. The teachers recognize each individual’s goals, learning style, and experience. Students also receive case management services, empowering them to succeed in school and work.

Programs that provide a graded system of learning in a formal school setting from kindergarten or grade one through grades six, seven, eight or nine (depending on the district configuration) for children ranging in age from five or six to about 13 or 14.

Hospital charity care requirements cover those essential services necessary to diagnose, correct, or cure a medical condition that endangers life, causes pain and suffering, results in illness or infirmity, or causes a physical deformity or malfunction. Both inpatient and outpatient services are included. To receive full charity care, patients annual family income must be up to and including 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. For partial charity care, patients annual family income must be between 200% and 300% of the Federal Poverty Level may receive assistance based on a sliding scale. In addition to income, hospitals have the option to consider other assets. Also must be denied from Medicaid first depending on income. Providence Water, although a department of the City of Providence, is regulated by state and federal agencies in addition to city policies and procedures. The quality of our treated drinking water is regulated by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the Rhode Island Department of Health. Our revenue and rate structure is regulated by the Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission. A seven member Providence Water Supply Board of Directors determines corporate policy. It is the mission of this Board to ensure that water customers receive a safe and reliable water supply for drinking and fire protection. This group is comprised of dedicated private citizens and public officials and is committed to fair and equitable service to all customers and property owners in our service area. The RIde Program is for people with disabilities that prevent the use of fixed-route buses, RIPTA offers paratransit service through the RIde Program, as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). ADA Paratransit provides door to door service and requires advance reservations. RIde is a shared ride service so your trip time may not be scheduled at the exact time you request. A RIde Customer Service Agent will work with you to find a time that works. You may need to call back later to find out the time your trip is scheduled. Transportation to anywhere in RI, not limited to appointments, clients can also get transportation to non medical locations such as stores, mall, movies, events, etc. The service area reaches as far as Target in Seekonk and Market Basket in Attleboro. Available to anyone with a disability, children under 13 years old are not allowed to ride alone.
