The philosophy of our program is to provide social, habilitation and employment services to deaf people with diverse disabilities and others with unique communication needs in an independence and empowerment-based model that facilitates living, learning and working successfully as integrated members of the community. Services are concentrated in four areas: Day Program, Residential Program, Employment Services (training, internship, job coaching, paid employment) and Community Outreach/Involvement, which includes attending cultural and civic events, volunteering with neighborhood clean-up and enhancement projects, and working with staff at Fairs and Conventions to promote Corliss services and activities to parents, schools, businesses and public agencies.

This section is responsible for the administration of the National Flood Insurance Program, statewide emergency planning, including the ongoing enhancement of Rhode Island's Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan and the coordination of local and state plans, utilizing an all-hazards approach. The Planning and Mitigation Section also focuses on current topics in emergency management, such as improving the State's resiliency to climate change and for future disasters through adaptation and mitigation programs.

PASS provides families with the opportunity to take the lead role in directing the services received by their child. The family-centered approach empowers families and individuals to foster independence, support family care giving and decision making, respect family choices and values, and build on individual strengths. Respite Program: a consumer-driven program designed to enhance the quality of life for children with special needs and their families. The provision of Respite enables families to receive support in the delivery of care for their children. Children’s Home-Based Therapeutic Services (HBTS): clinically directed, specialized health services that are designed to meet the individual needs of children diagnosed with moderate to severe physical, developmental, behavioral or emotional conditions. Addresses behavioral concerns and the development of functional, social and communication skills. The HBTS Team is comprised of the parent(s), a clinical supervisor, a home based therapist, a family service coordinator, and when indicated specialty (treatment consultants, speech therapy, physical therapy, and/or occupational therapy). Together, the HBTS Team develops an individualized treatment plan with measurable goals and objectives. Additionally, clinical support and training is provided on a continuous basis to the home based therapist and family.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supplemental Feeding and Nutrition Program provides food vouchers, allowing them to purchase milk, eggs, cheese, juice and iron fortified cereals and formula. The WIC coordinator provides nutrition education and counseling to all program participants on a monthly basis.

  • Independent Aging Services Program: Transport assistance for homebound seniors or disabled adults to healthcare appointments, pharmacies, grocery stores and housing appointments; Delivery of food Meals on Wheels and/or farmers’ markets (or placement at a food pantry); Grocery shopping and delivery for a senior client; Companionship/visitation for a home bound older senior and/or respite care for their full-time caregiver; Minor home repairs (very minor—larger jobs are referred to partner agencies), fall clean ups and snow removal for walkways for senior safety.

SRIV Disaster Preparedness and Response Team- SRIV volunteers 13 plus years of age helping during community disasters, crisis and other needs as determined by local emergency management directors. SRIV offers opportunities for our members to use their skills, talents and time to benefit individuals in need and to benefit the greater community. Whether you are a retiree with extra time on your hands, a student looking to fulfill community service hours, a mom or dad with mid-day hours, or an individual or group interested in being involved, SRIV has an opportunity for you! Stroke Support Group The Fatima All S.T.A.R.S. (Stroke, Together, Advocacy, Recovery, Support) invite you to join "HOPE after STROKE" meetings which take place in the rear of the 4 South dining room at Fatima Hospital. Spinal Cord Support Group Meetings take place in the outpatient therapy gym at Southern New England Rehabilitation Center’s Providence location at St. Joseph Health Center, 21 Peace Street. The gym is located on the third floor on the west wing.
